"Hidden - so enjoy now"

8.0

The Luberon is full of small hill towns. Some are so touristy its hard to move without stumbling. Some are so cute that they put Disneyland to shame. Some are off the guidebook routes - like this little jewel in Murs, Gordes. Tucked away in an unassuming quiet little village is this inn with a small cozy restaurant. Run by a lovely french woman who has recently traded the fog and cold of the north coast for the sun of Provence. And what a good trade that was! The grilled honey soaked pork chops. The vegetable stew. The daily fresh made everything on the menu and lots of local vin rose to wash it down. Sit a while. Enjoy your lunch - there is no place you have to be.

"Cracking find, in a lovely spot"

10.0

What a lovely hotel, in a smashing little village. Very unusual and quirky rooms, but very quiet and comfortable. Excellent food. Only stayed one night when on a cycling trip, but would certainly go back again.

"Satisfaisant"

Charming B&B , Isabelle is a fantastic hostess. Good breakfast, Nice surroundings and probably the best place to start the exploration of the Luberon.

Eravamo in quattro e siamo stati bene con una camera arredata in stile provenzale. Abbiamo anche cenato bene sotto un piacevole pergolato. Direzione molto gentile! 17/7/2018

"Wonderful, quiet base for exploring Vaucluse"

10.0

This small privately run hotel was a real discovery. The tiny village of Murs is situated in a gorgeous mountain area of the Vaucluse, within easy driving access of the "villages perchés" of the Luberon, Roussillon & Mont Ventoux. The hotel has only 8 rooms. It has been beautifully furnished & equipped by the present owner - Isabelle was a most charming and attentive host and she could not have done more to make us feel comfortable and at home. The hotel also has an excelent small bistro, which is justifiably very popular with visitors and local residents alike. Our room was very comfortable, with fabulous views out over the hilly landscape towards Gordes. There are no other facilities in the small hamlet of Murs - this suited us ideally as a quiet characterful base for enjoying this beautifu area of Provence. A car is of course essential.

We had a very pleasant stay here.We based ourselves in the tiny village of Murs for three days to explore the area and were pleased to find a reasonably priced option in what is an eye wateringly expensive area of Provence. We were very well looked after by the friendly staff who went out of their way to assist us and particularly appreciated the set menu evening meals featuring local produce in the small restaurant. If you are looking for somewhere clean and simple with French character you will enjoy it here and there were a range of guests staying eg young families, cyclists etc passing through. The owner is particular to ensure that her individual stamp is on every aspect of your stay, that may not be for everyone but it makes for an authentic local visit and certainly we hope to return in the future.
