"Gorgeous place to stay and superb food"

Gorgeous food, lovely setting.

No lift, which is understandable in a building of this type, but would be nice to offer help with luggage. No background noise at breakfast, no other people to create atmosphere, so needed something else, like ambient music or breakfast news. Shower was either cold or scorching - moved the tap less than half a millimetre. Don't think I even moved it, it just got scorching hot when I touched the tap!

"Great stay in lovely hotel in gorgeous countryside"

Staff were great. Chatty, helpful and friendly. Food was very good and I thought tasted great. Hotel is not like the chain hotels - floors creaky, room is warm (rather than cold as is so often at other hotels).

Second stay at Hardwick hall manor house beautiful hotel we stayed in the family room and it was gorgeous.All the staff are welcoming and friendly.We had a meal and it was lovely and not over priced ,breakfast was lovely. Definitely recommend to everyone and will certainly be visiting again
