Hotel Platería

The hotel was in a great location by main square. The room was fine and spacious and bathroom very good. But the hotel had no soul...it seemed lifeless and uninspiring.

Check in was a nightmare. It took almost an hour. We stood outside in 47c heat trying to converse with a speaker. At the other end was a Spanish lady with little English. We had to hold our passports to a tiny camera. Our Spanish was as bad as her English, poor woman. This hotel boasts a 24 hour reception. There is no one on Reception. When you finally are granted access, you have to retrieve your key from a box using a number code. Then they want you to fill out another form and sign and go back out and hold it to the camera. I had well had enough by now and we went to our room. There is nothing wrong with this hotel EXCEPT there is NO reception. No map. No advice on what to see. No recommendations on where to eat. Plenty of signs saying scan this and book your own that. Not our style.

the virtual booking system was difficult to use for those who are traveling without cell phone or cellular data. very frustrating.

remote check-in system, on the phone with a receptionst located god knows where, who gives you instruction how to open the front door and find your room key like in a treasure hunt. Totally ludicrous. Nobody in the building, no breakfast. small room, not well furnished. Located in a pedestrian alley, you need to park 200 mt away and carry your luggage with you

Hotel right in the heart of the city of Ecija, perfect location. Our room was clean and very comfy. Everything worked perfectely. We didn´t have breakfast included but very close by there are plenty of bars and cafes. Lovely building inside and nice lounge. The bathrooms does need to change a bit, take out the bath and add a shower...

The only thing going for this place is the location. No restaurant / bar or nice seating area. The room and bathroom were cramped and dated. The lift was filthy. When the photos were taken I don't know.

When I look for a hotel in a town I do not know...two things are important. 1. location, near centre, easy to find. 2. parking, and I do not mean side of a narrow street, where you will find one side of your car gone next morning...ok slight exageration. I find that a lot of reviews omit these important factors. With reference to above, hotel Plateria was quiet difficult to find, I was not looking for any hotel in particular, just wandered about on foot. Parking was excellent in open car park for €2 overnight. Hotel was very good, no view from bedroom, I however slept most of time I was in it so it did not matter. Staff were really good fun.
