Setting,great breakfast and exceptional hosts

Gorgeous setting. Comfy rooms. Great wildlife. And wonderful hosts.

Fantastic setting for a B&B. Great room. Superb homemade breakfast ( cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, homemade bread and homemade marmalade, orange juice and coffee). Cassowary's coming into the garden area ( we saw them 6 times during our 1 night's stay). The hosts (Blair and Dawn) were superb informing us where to go and what to see. Balcony outside room to view the wildlife.

Only stopping there 1 night. If ever you go there, stay at least 2 nights.

Informative hosts, jungle location with gorgeous garden, possibility to see cassowaries, great pool and the extra help provided in pickup/ renting bikes etc. Took us 3 days to see a cassowary but we were saved by the bell 30 minutes before we left;) Truly magnificent animals!

Nothing in particular. Just note that for most restaurants a car is convenient. We walked to mission but this is quite a walk.

Everything. Visited previously and it was every bit as good as we remembered. Wonderful host and the location was unforgettable. We were also visited by the resident cassowary.

Beautiful gardens, great pool, clean and comfy accomodation, friendly and helpful hosts. We loved the breakfast. The icing on the cake was the wildlife: wild cassowaries walking into the garden, yellow sunbirds flitting around (one looked at me through our window, flew to the glass door to look in, then settled on the mirror of our car), colourful butterflies and a pair of curlews. Loved our stay at Licuala lodge.

Everything was perfect! I would really recommend this lodge to anyone staying in Mission Beach. What I would highlight overall was the owners friendliness, warm welcome and information they provided to us not only about the stay but about wildlife, local recommendations and overall tips for a great tip around Australia. We were able to see for three times in our 1 night stay cassowaries around the garden as well as other fascinating wildlife (birds and pademelons). The homemade breakfast was one of the best we ever had. This was by far one of the most charming stays we have ever stayed in. The best choice for Mission Beach!

Great spot in the rainforest. 3 cassowary sightings in 3 days-amazing. Dawn gave fantastic travel advice and an even better breakfast. Would love to visit again.
