Licuala Lodge

We had a great stay at Licuala lodge,our hosts could not of done any more for us,they were friendly and made sure we had a beautiful Christmas stay in the Nth Queensland rainforest.We had 3 cassowary sightings ,one with a chick.Our hosts served a great breakfast.The location is near a local community,beautiful beaches and the Mission Beach resort bistro is a friendly venue serving great meals.

Some people may find the North Qld. summer a little uncomfortable ther is no airconditioning,but you have to remember why you are there,to experience the North Qld. rainforest.

Brilliant location with a tropical garden oasis where we saw a Cassowary wandering through. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and everything you need for a stop over.

Breakfast truly exceptional. We were given freshly prepared fruit salad, home made bread, jams and marmalade. View of beautiful tropical garden from breakfast verandah - with added visit of a cassowary! Just superb. Hosts friendly, attentive and engaging.

Wonderful hosts, in a beautiful setting,with even a visiting wild cassowary bird! Lovely quiet rooms, copious breakfast. Very good base for exploring the surrounding region.

They have shared cooking facilities which were great. The swimming pool was lovely. Saw 2 cassowary. Great breakfast and helpful hosts

Beautiful property with amazing garden and resident cassowary named Charlie who you'll likely see in the mornings. Breakfast was outstanding and filling. Hosts are lovely and interesting people who we chatted with over breakfast. Room was spacious and had plenty of shelving for your belongings. Bathroom was big and provided all the toiletries you need. There is a pretty pool but we didn't use it. Property was super clean and well kept, and hosts are onsite if you need anything. Super quiet location just slightly out of town. 3 minute drive to restaurants and beach. We loved it!

Beautiful gardens, lovely warm pool, comfortable room with views out to the gardens and amazing cassowaries that just wander in! Also the added bonus of complimentary breakfast provisions served in the main house.

Amazing hosts who supported me whenever needed, a great room with everything I needed plus a comfortable guest lounge with kitchen and laundry option. And this all in the middle of the rain Forest. Great breakfast with homemade bread. Casowaries who every now and then visited the property. I can really recommend this very special place. :)
