"Cant go wrong with this one"

10.0

Stayed at hotel may 9-15, two minor problems, 1st water supply for showers and toilet was disrupted, pipe problem but they are getting it fixed and 2nd, KEYS, due to the recession there is no one on reception, so you cant get into the hotel, but don't worry you haven't got to go far to get them. Keys are held at the TURMALINA hotel, 24hr reception. Directions, turn your back on the coral beach ,3 roads, straight ahead and 2 to the right, take the middle one, go to the end and turn left TURMALINA 500 MTS ON LEFT HAND SIDE., takes 5-10 mins. Coral beach is 2min walk from beach, is clean, tidy and in ideal location, pools are great, i cant fault it . Had 2 bedrooms 1 ensuite, lounge, kitchen, and bathroom, very roomy, also great views of the rock. For what we paid for it less than £150 you cant go wrong. There are 2 great bars on the seafront, Coconuts and nxt door to the right, great food, also good chinese further up towards the rock but just set back a bit . ENJOY IT.

"Nice, clean apts and town"

6.0

We booked this holiday in March through Doncaster airport for one week with Thompsonfly. The flight overall was okay but there wasn’t a meal included. We flew to Alicante airport without an included transfer so we sorted out our own. The lady we booked the holiday with said there would be plenty of taxis outside the airport which would get us to Calpe for 30E. We ended up paying 100E! I recommend asking how much it is before you get in the taxi, or book one before you go. The apartment we stayed in was quite spacious and clean. As we booked a two bedroom apartment it had two balconies (nice sea and mountain view of Calpe) and two bathrooms. There were three nice swimming pools but no one really bothered going in them, I think because of the time of year. The apartments didn’t have a bar/entertainment or anything like that. The Hotel Esmeralda does though which I think is open to anyone (we went in anyway). There are lots of supermarkets and restaurants and the beach and promenade (lovely) are only 2 mins walk away. Coral Beach Apts are not situated in Calpe town. That is on the other side of the big Rock Ifach. You can walk along the promenade into Calpe town, taking about 45 mins. You can also catch the bus across the road from Coral beach Apts, taking about 10 mins. It’s very easy; it will take you anywhere round Calpe town for 1 euro each. On Saturday there’s a massive market in the main town, and there you can also find more supermarkets, shops, banks (they close a 1pm), car hire etc. There’s some nice restaurants all over Calpe, although nowhere is cheap! If you want to venture out a bit more you can stay on the bus until you reach the train station, and catch a train into another town from there, like Benidorm. The Calpe resort tends to attract older couples (where lots go to retire!). There isn’t a lot to do in Calpe itself except for shopping and relaxing on the beach and in the cafes. Staying for one week in Calpe was great but I don’t recommend it for young people who want to explore or go clubbing. Its definitely for those wanting to relax. If you need to know anything the lady on reception was very helpful and spoke perfect English and arranged for us a cheaper taxi back to the airport. Overall, my family and I had a great time and would certainly return. We’re looking for a holiday to go back to Calpe now. I hope this review was helpful!
