Bonne Esperance Boutique Guest House and Studio Apartments

We had a one night stop over and were absolutely delighted by. The cosy and homely ambience and elegance of the hotel. The staff were friendly, professional and so helpful in planning a wine tour. The luxury of the small touches was lovely and the buffet breakfast suited any taste.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were bright and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

Lovely building with a verandah onto the garden and a courtyard with a pool at the back. In one of the old "suburbs" of Stellenbosch you are within easy walking distance of the centre - which is very useful as parking is at a premium in town so being able to leave the car in the hotel car park and stroll in is a real bonus. Breakfast is served in what feels a bit like your grandmother's front room and was very good. We stayed in La Petite - which is one of those rare rooms which is higher than it is wide. However the high ceilings keep it feeling airy and doors out onto the courtyard with a little table and chairs set would make it seem even larger in the summer. It is very close to the front desk but as the hotel was quiet during our stay that wasn't an issue. Would love to visit again and have time to linger in the grounds and enjoy the charms of Bonne Esperance

The three nights I stayed at the Bonne Esperance I enjoyed a lot! Friendly, dedicated and very helpful staff. The reception people welcome you and make you feel at home from the moment you enter the guest house. Nice very decorative rooms. Helpfull staff will makeyur choice of breakfast and there is also a buffet. Nice to sit around areas within relaxing atmosphere. Great location. Will definitely visit again.

We are so glad we stayed here. It really is a delightful guest house. The gardens are beautiful and there is a lovely veranda to sit enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast. Our room, overlooking the garden and small pool, was extremely comfortable with lovely soft furnishings and high ceilings. You can certainly tell that the Bonne Esperance Guest House is cherished by it's owners as everything is just perfect. We would not hesitate to return. Easy to find. Good parking. Friendly helpful staff. Great location for strolling to dinner. 10 out of 10.

A clean, cozy room in a colonial house with a really nice garden. This guesthouse oozed the character and charm of a small town. It's a great contrast to nearby Cape Town and an excellent base for visiting the local wineries and exploring the interesting public artwork and local shops. Definitely glad I stayed here instead of doing a daytrip from Cape Town.

Lovely old building . We had visited Stellenbosch for the wedding of my niece and it turns out the hotel had been his University accommodation over 30 years ago . As with all old buildings it is very difficult to maintain perfectly which is why we only gave it a 4 for condition . The few bits of chipped paint on the skirting and old fittings were more than made up for by the beautiful gardens, wonderfully maintained, and the immense scent of the jasmine and choysia that filled the air as soon as we stepped out of the car . It had the feel of a nice homely country garden without the formality and pomp of the large corporate hotel gardens . The staff were very pleasant and proficient and a credit to the hotel as were the breakfast staff . Breakfast was all you could ask for . If you're looking for a place with warmth and character in a nice location in Stellenbosch it would be hard to beat this.
