The Soul Antwerp

location is absolutely amazing. the most fun and vibrant neighborhood of Antwerpen and you are right in the middle! also, the staff is super friendly.

being in this super fun neighborhood, there’s gonna be some street noise. if you’re looking for a quiet place, then this is not what you want. but if you’re looking for the best spot in town and nice bars and restaurants, than this area is the best, and The Soul offers great value for money.

Everything according to the expectations or exceeding the expectations.

We missed soap to wash the dishes and a kitchen towel.

Very nice staff and location and ambiance.

the bathroom could use some updating, it is not dirty, just a bit tatty and worn

The guesthouse is located in a nice neighborhood with plenty restaurants. The room is spacious and the whole thing seems pretty clean. The entry via intercom worked ok. There where two portions of coffee provided on both days I stayed, unfortunately on the second day without sugar/ creamer.

The whole place - starting from the nondescript entrance door to the bathroom - needs some renovation. There might be more light - at least three of the bulbs were broken. There is, literally, zero space in the bathroom to put any toiletries. The bathroom also has no ventilation, so all humidity will stay inside unless you leave the door open. When I arrived the room was very cold and it took more than a day to heat up; it seemed like there hadn't been anyone there for a longer time, everything was cold. Insulation is poor, standing in front of the window feels like you're outside. There is no radiators, all the heating comes just from the aircondition which is a constant noise and basically heats up only half of the room. The furniture has the look and feel of being there for a very long time. At some time someone has tried to make it stylish , but seemingly failed by adding fleamarket-style furniture. Uh, and please be aware that there is no elevator. You have to walk up with your luggage the rather steep and pretty narrow staircase. There is also no fire exit, so in case of a fire you'll be caught in the room.

Bright and spacious studio with big windows and nice view, comfortable bed, renovated bathroom. Fantastic breakfast is served in the cafe next door, in the same building. Good location, about 10-15 min walk to the city centre.

In December it was pretty cold inside, especially in the bathroom. There’s only one electric heater, conditioner in heating mode doesn’t make any difference. Also would be nice to have a kettle in the kitchen.
