Location is perfect, the top floor lounge and swimming is very quiet. Staff was very friendly. Vivianne from the SPA was amazing!

The breakfast was OK, nothing special. You can hear all day long the station which play the alarms most of the day.

The rooftop bar/restaurant in the early evening. The Royal Gin and Tonic was amazing, as well as the friendly service. The Mediterranean Salad was especially good. It was nice to sit up there as the rain poured down over the city. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the water coolers just outside the rooms instead of using plastic bottles! The hostess at the breakfast buffet started our day with a smile, and the buffet was outstanding. The location for those traveling by train can not be better. Extremely convenient to pull your bags from the hotel front door to the station. The access to Malioboro Street is also a plus. Nice pool.

The ding-ding-ding-ding from the Announcements being made at the station will stay in your mind for days after check out. Not sure why it is required so often. I know the hotel does not control the train station, but if you are a light sleeper (I am not), that could be a point against ANY hotel near the station.

The hotel was well priced and good value based on the rooms and location. I travelled by train and upon arrival walked diagonally across the road. Doing the same in reverse to catch the train to the airport. Malioboro Street was just around the corner with shopping, small mall and lots of eating and lively atmosphere, especially in the evening. The hotel staff were all very nice and friendly. At reception they kindly organised my driver to visit Borobodur and checked that the temple was open in Mondays (the internet was confusing about that). On the downside, having come from the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski in Jakarta I did find the Royal Malioboro a little noisy but of course, much cheaper. Thank you all the staff for making me welcome.

On the second night of my stay, quite noisy until around 1 am.

Location was very close to station, but super noisy due to the trains. Busy location, but easy to travel to and from. Rooms were simple but fine.

Food was poor quality, both breakfast and dinner. Got food poisoning from the dinner restaurant
