Il Seminario Bed and Breakfast

Il Seminario is easy to reach if you are arriving by train and yet is near all the things you might want to see in Lucca: This is the third time we have stayed at the Seminario and would definitely stay again.

We booked Il Seminario mainly because it was close to the Lucca station so it was a very pleasant surprise when we arrived. The building and decor are charming, the breakfast buffet is great and the staff are very helpful and friendly ( particularly Manuela). It was a great base for our five day stay in Lucca.

We had a great stay .lovely clean and very comfortable rooms. No hesitation about recommending to friends and family

Clean, comfortable and quiet - large modern bathroom. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly and accommodating. The only complaint is that the small refrigerator in the room wasn't working.

The staff at this B and B went out of their way to make our stay as easy and pleasant as possible. Right from helping with the luggage, directing the parking, to recommending places of interest and restaurants. It is located within the wall and close to everything. There was a very nice breakfast buffet with the ability to sit out on the patio in warmer weather.

There is a 10 euros a day parking charge which most Hotels included in price but this was not over the top. Whilst the Hotel is central it is a fair walk to the main attractions (Tower etc.) and that is why the overall rating is only 4

Il Seminario offers everything a traveller needs in a plain (in a good way), very comfortable and clean environment, and for a reasonable price. They seem to understand the basic comforts a traveller needs, and they provide those with good quality and without any fussing around with unnecessary bells and whistles. A complimentary bottle of water was waiting for me on my arrival in my room - seems silly, but it was a simple, perfect gift for someone who had been hauling a heavy suitcase on a warm day, and an amenity I did not find at other, "fancier" places. The room was large, and I loved the old windows with the internal shutters. Breakfast was a nice selection of baked goods, meats, eggs, cereal, and juices, with pleasant seating indoors or out. And dear Irene seems to be the young mother spirit of the place, everywhere at once, offering coffee, asking after your day, and generally making sure everyone is comfortable and looked after. I hated to leave - it was the perfect shelter for a few days in beautiful Lucca.

We had a lovely stay in Lucca at Il Seminario. This hotel is within easy walking distance of the main sites within the city walls, but also has parking available. The room was a good size and the bathroom was lovely with a great shower. The staff were very helpful and friendly and at breakfast there was a good choice on the continental buffet. Breakfast is inside or in the little garden space which is very pleasant. I would recommend this hotel for both couples and families travelling with children.

Hotel was very good and is close to the railway station- there is a shorter way to get to the hotel from the station through the tunnel which the locals might be able to help with, this is not clear from Google Maps. The hotel owner Paulo was very helpful. Room was clean and very well-furnished - the aesthetics were top-notch. It is a bit pricey for a small town, but found it to be worth for what we were paying. Overall, it is a very good place to stay and would definitely recommend it.

Loved staying here, and Paolo, Manuela, Christina and Rossana were all very kind and friendly! Delicious breakfast, and loved the security of the private parking. And of course the air con as it was 40c outside!
