Howard Johnson Hotel Versalles Barranquilla

The toilet was running all the time. I asked for them to fix it while I was out and they did not get to it. When I got and complained they moved me to a very nice suite for the remainder of my stay. The staff was not overly friendly but they were professional.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Free breakfast was a plus. I did have problems with the front desk and their inability to speak English and connect outside calls to my room. An English speaker was put on hold and the front desk would not or could not understand them or connect them to my room number.

They gave me two full size beds push together to make a king size bed.

The staff is friendly and helpful, but not all speak English. The setting is nice, the pool is really great. Hot water was plentiful, water pressure good. I enjoyed my stay overall.

In Barranquilla, this is a reliable hotel. It is in the downtown area, has reliable internet, a free breakfast that is decent and it is reasonably-priced. I have stayed here 3 times and will stay again. In Colombia, there are a lot of surprises and hotels that call themselves 5 star are actually 3 star. This is similar to what you would expect from a mid range chain hotel in the States. This hotel is honest, reliable, the people are good. The same people have been working here every time that I have stayed here.

Beds where not comfortable and room doors where had to be shut hard which caused guests to regularly shut them. Employees are very nice like most people from Barranquilla.

We always stay at this hotel when we visit Barranquilla. It is centrally located and a great value for the price. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the restaurant has a great menu with reasonable prices. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

1st room a disaster,made me think I was in a oversize closet,terrible bed,one hard mattress on wooden slats,bathroom, size of a postage stamp..didn't even have a glass to drink out of..no chair in the room,changed to better room following day for additional price..There are better hotels in Barranquilla for the same price..I would have changed hotels the second day if I had not prepaid in full... On the plus side, staff very friendly..

Good reception, fast checkin and checkout. Good breakfast. Very convenient for business travel.

The cost for the room and complimentary breakfast should have also included supper. The bathroom was spacious, BUT when we showered, water almost coverd the complete floor. A three inch wall needs to be built to encirlce the shower floor space to avoid water from spreading all over the bathroom floor. Maybe when someone ends up slipping and falling and hurting themselves they'll wise up.
