Hotel Ausonia

We drove into town on a Saturday and noticed this hotel. It was right off beach. They only had a deluxe room left, which was a gem on 2nd floor with a big patio overlooking the ocean and board walk. We even had a band concert right below us in the evening. Room was small but nice and the service was great, most spoke english. Parking is a challenge but we fould a spot right across from hotel. Great location to check out boardwalk, shopping and restaurants

Looking for a hotel on the beach and good value for off season. We found this gem while driving. Nice breakfast included, right on the walkway along the beach. Clean rooms with wifi. Has heat and ac depending on the time of year. You get a better deal if you book online. There is only street parking available.

I make it a rule never to travel on fun to Europe during the great Euro Vacation Season. As such we often find small gems and enjoyable stays when the crowds are gone and there is just good weather and that unique European ambience that we love. Ausonia and indeed the whole town of Fallonica were just such a find. Ausonia is right near the boardwalk on the Tyrranean Seaside, and in the heart of the town. The prorpietors are a delight, and we were thoroughly looked after through our 3 night stay on the property. There was a table reserved for us each morning, which was great since we were the only visible guests in the establishment! The breakfast included yogurt, fruit, cheese, an excellent Euro coffee machine spit out quite good cappucinos as well as caffe Americano, steamed milk and a couple of flavored choices which we were not interested in. They also had the real deal barista center in their small bar area if you were looking for an afternoon or evening beverage. The property is central, our room was surrounded by mature trees so privacy was secure, except for the bathroom which did require attentiuon to the drapery. This would be more acute in the season, as it was there was no one to admire us anyway if we had forgotten the modesty! The bed was comfortable, the linens and towels were quality and clean, and the hotel offers a reuse or refresh policy that met our requirments for eco stewardship, but left room for replacment if you are less inclined. We booked the unit on Expedia, and the description was perfectly asligned with the product, which cannot always be said, particularly for independents like Ausonia. I strongly recommend, Ausonia as well as the town of Fallonica as a central station in the discovery of many of the interesting sites and scenes of Lazio and lower Tuscany.

this hotel was okay. we got the deluxe room, I would hate to see what a standard room was. When we arrived, the bathroom was crawling with ants, we informed reception and they resolved the problem relatively quickly. the air conditioner worked very well. it is completely not soundproof though, you can hear everything through the walls. all in all, we spent most of our days at the beach, so the room didn't matter too much! Parking, however, is a major problem. there is no parking attached to the hotel so you are on your own in the side streets.
