Grand Hotel de la Reine Place Stanislas

We loved the location of the hotel and it's ambiance, which was relaxed and welcoming and a far cry from the efficiency and sterile atmosphere of many hotels catering for business travel.

The Grand Hotel is perfectly situated but the hotel is in MAJOR need of a full renovation. The rooms and room corridors have been renovated on the cheap and the public areas are VERY run down. The hotel is a wonderful property but the owners and previous owners do not respect the location or building. The restaurant was empty when others close by were bustling. The staff did not respond to simple towel requests! Location is great but I would not recommend for more than one night.

Great location, lovely hotel, but minor quibble - poor fitting shower panel meant floor got flooded each time.Spolit the Hotel's env creds asking to use less towels!

Room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel was right on Stanislas Place, so it was very convenient to everything. We walked (20 min) from the train station, but a tram was only 2 stops away. Receptionist was also very friendly and helpful. Would def recommend this hotel.

Such an amazing city, and a wonderful classic old hotel. Newly renovated, clean and comfy. Lots of activity on the square, and great restaurants, little antique shops, art or specialty shops, all within walking distance. Our only regret was that we were only here for one day--would love to come back!

The hotel staff varied from very helpful to rather curt. I stayed in room 6, which faces the opera house and is recently renovated. It was extremely noisy from about 10:45pm to 11:05pm, when there is a sound and light show in Place Stanislas. On my first day there the hallway was being painted. There were tools all over the hallway floor, which was very dangerous. The hotel staff eventually came to carry my bag to my room and ended up getting paint on my suitcase. They later cleaned it but never once apologized for the inconvenience. They were helpful when I asked for directions and to use a computer and printer to print business documents, which is a free 24hr service. There was no safe or minibar in the room, even though the guest info pack says there is.

Excellent and extremely helpful and friendly employees who always went out of their way for wonderful customer service. They also spoke english well which was helpful! The hotel itself is clean and decorated in very ornate and what I would call typical french style...I just loved everything about this place!!!!

Old hotel, could probably do with a refurb but the room was clean and the location is briliant. You step straight out of the front door into Stanislas square. Parking is therefore tricky.
