Hotel Monec

The hotel is located close to a shopping center named Panora. There are many embassies around. It seems there isn't any car parking problem. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony, the bathroom is large. Breakfast quality is almost at top level. The price / performance ratio is near perfection.

I went to stay at Monec whilst visiting family in Ankara for 5 days. The only positives I can comment on is the view and the location that speaks for itself. However, I have no idea how this hotel had been granted four starts for the terrible service provided whenever a problem was encountered. Firstly, bathroom drain needed unblocking as water levels were going down super slowly, leaving water stains that look unpleasant in the bathtub. I informed the reception about this twice and nothing was done about it even though they kept saying they would look into it. Secondly, bathroom door not shutting properly so in order to shut it you had to slam the door, again possibly not great for the neighbouring hotel room guests next doors. Thirdly, the swimming facilities were suggested for our use repeatedly every day that we were there so I bought some swimming gear especially for the occasion. When myself and my partner was shown the swimming pool and was given the go ahead to use the facilities - so we were literally in the water - that's when we are told we need swimming caps so she fetched them and we put it on our heads and then we were told that would come to 40TL. Even though I happen to have that money on me, out of principle, I refused to pay for their timing of that request. I found it highly disrespectful with the way it was asked also. I would like to know all costs in advance not as we are doing it then. They were incredibly rude so we left the pool. I made an official complaint to one of the personal there but I highly doubt that will go anywhere. Fourthly, we were told that breakfast is from 7-11am. What a load of rubbish. When we went up to get something to eat by 10:30 everything had been put away, tidied and cleaned up. Why bother advertising times if you aren't going to stick to them. That day we had to go out and get breakfast as I just had enough of making complaints and nothing was being done about anything.. If you want a problem free stay.. do not stay here.

Ideal for tourists busting Ankara. In a very beautiful section of the city, and not far from the Center of Ankara. Public transportation is frequent and affordable.

I spent three nights at Hotel Monec and my overall experience was quite good. It is very clean, the room was quite large and had a spacious balcony with a great view of the high rise apartments and office buildings in the area.Breakfast is quite good and served in an elegant lounge upstairs. There was a jacuzzi in the large bathroom and came in handy after a days work. Bed very comfortable with a 'pillow menu'... There is 2 bottles of water are offered free of charge each day. Two large shopping malls are within a 10-minute walk.

I spent two nights at Hotel Monec and my overall experience was quite good. It is very clean, the room was quite large and had a spacious balcony with a great view of the high rise apartments and office buildings in the area. The Oran area is a bit far from Kızılay, what is generally regarded as downtown Ankara but the area is very elegant and quite a few embassies are located nearby. A minibus spot is just down the hill and takes 20-25 minutes to Kızılay. Breakfast is quite good and served in an elegant lounge upstairs. There was a jacuzzi in the large bathroom and came in handy after a days work. Bed very comfortable with a 'pillow menu'... There is a well stocked minibar and 2 bottles of water are offered free of charge each day. Air-condition only works if the balcony doors are closed. Two large shopping malls are within a 10 minute walk.

Hotel is located in Oran. It remains on top of the hill and provides excellent views. Dining at roof top was a pleasure for us. Cleanlines of the hotel was above Ankara standards and was also a good buy for our money.

Everything was good, hotel staff were very helpful , room was big, clean and comfortable.

This is a nice hotel for those who seek cost and benefit. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel with air conditioning being repaired in two days or fitness closed because of holidays (!). In spite of that i would like to mention spacious and clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast is very poor with limited variety of not very fresh fruits. There s a mall near too eat, but the overall location is a bit isolated.

Stayed at the Monec for one night and enjoyed the big room with a nice view to the city, and the great breakfast. The room was heated well (it was snowing outside). Bathroom with jacuzzi (did not work..). The only thing that bothered me is the cigarette smell in the room. I am not sure if they have a non- smoking room
