Bukela Game Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve

This review isn't about the safari as we haven't been yet, it's about the company replying to queries. I've emailed the company 5 times now to ask a questions about our safari trip but nobody has answered our query. Extremely disappointing, especially considering the cost of the trip. Sadly doesn't feel like the behaviour of a top travel company? We're very frustated and disappointed.

Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Insbesondere unsere Rangerin Colia war super nett und hat unglaublich viel Wissen mit uns geteilt. Wir können die U reeking Allen wärmstens empfehlen!!

The main areas were all modern and beautifully maintained, rooms were huge with everything you could need and we had an amazing view over the reserve. Staff were super friendly and couldn’t have done more for you, same goes for the rangers. We loved the coffee stop on our morning drives. We had some amazing sightings, including at the water hole right by the property. Good location for only an hours drive away from an airport.

Unlikely to see a leopard!

During the night, we encountered wildlife in our room (first a bat, later a large spider) and tried repeatedly to reach the lodge for assistance. For more than an hour, no one was reachable by phone and no help was available at all. Especially in a remote safari lodge, reliable night-time availability is essential. Feeling completely without assistance at night was the decisive reason why we did not stay for the second night, although it was already paid for. After our early departure, the lodge never contacted us again. The only goodwill credit we received came from Booking.com, and it did not even cover half of one night.

Wir haben 2 Nächte in der Bukela Lodge verbracht und waren begeistert. Die Zimmer bzw Zelte sind toll eingerichtet und haben viel Platz. Zimmerservice kommt zweimal täglich und macht das Zimmer auch für den Abend fertig. Betten waren bequem und Zimmer war komplett dunkel was bei einem Zelt nicht selbstverständlich ist. Das Essen war sehr lecker und es gab immer viel Auswahl sowohl mittags als auch abends. Die angebotenen Game drives waren super. Zwei Game drives pro Tag und Essen und alle Getränke waren inklusive.

Wir hatten zu wenig Zeit noch länger zu bleiben

Alles was perfect! De locatie, de mensen, de sfeervolle en super comfortabele huisjes met open haard, de natuur, de deskundigheid en vriendelijkheid van de ranger, de safari’s met de big five, fantastische massage, de gezellige bar, heerlijke ontbijtjes voor en na de safari, de cappuccino met leeuwenkopjes in t schuim, de ruime keuzes bij lunch en diner

Niets viel tegen maar extra plus zou zijn: Iets sfeervollere ambiance bij het diner, kaarsje, muziek? Een kussen op de ligstoelen bij het huisje
