Dalmatian Apartments

Upon arriving at this apartment, the owner/caretaker was very rude and proceeded to tell me that I did not have a reservation. When he was presented with the hotels.com information that I had printed off, he continued to say that he did not have a reservation/room for me. We were sent packing. Two weeks later, I received a payment on my credit card for staying at these apartments when in fact, I didn't even stay there! Renters beware! Although the location is great, the owner is dodgy.

Allt som behövdes fanns i lägenheten. Låg dock inte på adressen som stod när man bokade utan en bit bort. Gjorde oss inget, men kan va bra att veta för någon annan. Mycket trevlig värdinna och bra service.

Absolutely fantastic apartment in a perfect spot in the Old Town/Palace area. I highly recommend it, as our family had a superb time with the perfect blend of touring the Old Town and relaxing. The apartment was very comfortable, perfectly outfitted with class, and ideally located. The owner found us free parking about a 10-minute walk from the Old Town (no cars allowed). This proved awesome, and was truly one of the top accommodations during our 8-stop Balkan road trip. Again, if you're going to visit Split, this is a great place to stay!

By far the worst accomodation and the most expensive in 4 weeks of touring.Not in the building pictured but in the bottom of a building around the corner. It was old ,smelly ,noisy and could not get Wi Fi . Parking an absolute nightmare. Location was fabulous but I would not recommend it to anyone . Did not get a receipt and had to pay cash in local currency up front.

There are lots of one-way streets in this area, so finding the apartment can be problematical - especially because the locals seemed unable to give consistent advice on how to find it. It took nearly an hour for us to find the place, despite having passed it several times but without seeing the signage. Once installed, there was a sense that our flat (top-floor duplex) was not quite complete - this was because some of the lights on the stairs to the mezzanine were not fitted, and the mezzanine mattresses were still in their wrappers and left on the floor (i.e. no bed). Despite these minor niggles, we found our apartment very well equipped and comfortably furnished. It was an easy stroll to the city, where there are tons of restaurants and loads to see and do. Parking is super difficult, but perseverance pays off.

We struggled for about an hour to find the apartment (not helped because none of the locals could give us consistent guidance). Parking was also an absolute pain in the a**. Ok... frustrations off my chest, now for the rest: The apartment (we were in the top-floor flat) was everything we needed, and was very comfortable and well-equipped. There was a slight sense of "work in progress" because some of the lights were not fully fitted, and the mezzanine only had mattresses (still in their original wrappers) and not a bed. Location was great - while the area gave me a sense of "inner-city" it felt perfectly safe, and was a mere 5 minutes walking distance to the Old City. While we didn't make use of it, there was a well equipped kitchen, including washing facilities. The WiFi router was in our room, so internet speed was 1st class.

Very clean, well equipped apartments, perfectly located apartment - maybe 300 m away from the old city. Great place for the money. Couple of notes - no free parking, no elevator and if you are staying in summer months ask for floors other than the last one. The room upstairs was really hot. None of these are downsides of this hotel. Just nice to knows. We got the best hotel for the price you pay

This was a brilliant apartment in Central Split - very modern, recently decorated and with all the facilities anyone could ask for. It was great having a little stereo as well as the TV. The host was extremely helpful, both before our stay (where he sent through maps etc to find up find the apartment) and when we arrived telling us about the area and making recommendations for what to visit. I believe we were in a premium room and from my experience it was definitely worth paying a little bit extra for this if possible as it really was a home away from home....indeed I wish I could have stayed longer!!

Our experience at the Dalmatian Apartments was incredible from start to end. The staff, especially Oliver and Ante, are very welcoming and attentive, better than any other hotel we stayed at. They were always ready with a smile and had helpful suggestions for things to do in the area and restaurants to try. They also offer various tours and packages, making it a one stop shop and very easy for us. They welcome guests to relax in their back courtyard and offer complementary wine and coffee. They offer transportation to and from the airport that is cheaper than a taxi. The apartment was extremely clean and spacious, offering all the amenities of home: wifi, air conditioning, a full kitchen, washing machine, etc. We were extremely impressed. Knowing that it was our honeymoon, we were greeted with wine and chocolates on the kitchen table. It was a very special touch that made us feel so welcome. The location is an additional plus. Only a 5 minute walk from the center of town. We just returned and are already recommending the Dalmatian Apartments to our friends.

Wonderful place, great kitchen and location. Washer included! No oven. I wish we could have stayed 5 days there! The only hiccup is that although they say they take credit cards, I had to argue for 10 minutes and call the owner and argue another 10 minutes before they admitted they could just run my card off hotels.com's system...
