Food at the Kingfisher was below my expectations. I will not frequent the establishment in the future.

The good: 1. Amazing location and forest-like ambience. 2. Amazing cat in the office - they have a couple there, but one is particularly gorgeous. 3. Cosy units with wooden interior. 4. Spacious bath with great powerful high pressure shower. The bad: 1. Kid-size toilet, not sure why a place like this cannot afford proper toilets given the rates they charge. 2. Heat control shows target temperature but not the current one, making it unclear which temperature to set, which is a sensitive matter in a mountain resourt. 3. In winter in the night the unit gets cold much faster than the heater could warm it, the heater cannot catch up fast enough in the night, the trick is to change the temperature setting from 68 F to 76 F in the evening so the room would not be hot during the day, but would get hot by the time it gets gold in the night, so, it would drop to 68 or so in the night even with 76 F set. 4. There is no ventilation, the electric heater does not bring air in, and in the night it is too cold to keep a window open, so, have to ventilate the unit in the evening while it is not too cold, then close the window, but by the morning the air in the unit will get very stuffy anyway, no way around it. 5. They preassign the rooms instead of allowing to choose between same type rooms that have not been checked into yet, as is done in most respectable hotels. 6. Steep $75 per hour rate for the late checkout fee. 7. The restaurant offers very healthy but not all that tasty items on a very limited menu, so, might want to use it only if too tired to drive to the town. 8. Does not look like they do housekeeping unless requested.

Great location near all attractions. Beautiful views, hot tub, and a game room with table tennis, pool, and kids’ games.

The price is too high, and the photos do not reflect the real condition or room size.

The cabin was nice and the property was beautiful.

The food was cold and disgusting and not worth $25 per person. Breakfast at holiday inn is so much better and it doesn’t carry the price tag. Our body wash dispenser didn’t work, which was ridiculous. Imagine paying almost $300/ night, it being incredibly loud when you’re trying to sleep because the cabin walls are carrying outside noises and in the morning you go to take a hot shower and can’t even clean yourself properly because the soap doesn’t work and it’s nearing checkout.
