We upgraded to a super deluxe room which was spacious, had a large bed and the bathroom had a large bath and a separate shower. It overlooked the High Street, the noise from which was kept out by the efficient secondary glazing. My wife was kept awake by intermittent noises throughout the night made by a boiler / air conditioning unit, hence my 4 star rating. I think from memory the upgrade request said that these rooms overlooked the castle, which they cannot as they are not visible from their position on the High Street. The service and overall attitude of the staff was excellent through our two day stay. The food was tasty enough but nothing to write home about. All of the food on offer at breakfast time was self service which I am not a fan of. It was warm, but not hot. You had to make your own tea / coffee toast even though the menu said it will be served to you.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Very comfortable rooms, a welcoming atmosphere, and an excellent location just steps from the town’s main attractions. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience relaxing and enjoyable.

The lifts are small and claustrophobic. This could be improved with internal mirrors which creates a sense of more space
