The Red Lion Hotel

Lovely with a charm all of its own. It was the staff who made our stay so pleasant. The evening meals were restaurant standard. Would recommend it for that alone.

Very dated. Not a problem for us, but our room was up two flights of narrow stairs. Was extremely warm in the room due to hot weather, and the high location, small window and small fan, made the room uncomfortable. Should be aware of shared access of drive to carpark behind property,

Friendly staff and great location for a stay close to Hay-on-wye during Hay festival, but far enough that you get a good rest after a long day. Will definitely be coming back!
