The Red Lion Hotel

Located in beautiful countryside. Friendly, accommodating staff, excellent food, good value for money.

Amazing location, right near the river Wye, so excellent for fishing trips or beautiful countryside and scenery. Friendly staff willing to advise best fishing spots. Dinner was probably some of the best meals I've eaten in hotels; the burger and chips was really filling and one of the best burgers I've tasted, accompanied by perfectly cooked chips; the pie and mash was restaurant quality, full of meat and really filling. Rooms were good for what we needed, decent TV, lots of space and nice shower.

Beds were a little noisy, as there were three of us sharing I was worried about getting up in the night or whilst the others were still asleep in case I disturbed them. But it was a small thing that didn't affect the overall stay.

Great character building, very fishing orientated, which was great. Staff very knowledgeable about where and how to catch barbel.

Room a bit warm, but that was the weather!
