Disappointing for the Price – Some Incredible Moments, but Service & Value Didn’t Match Expectations
We stayed at this resort for what we hoped would be a relaxing and luxurious break. We paid over £3,000 for our stay, and unfortunately, it didn’t meet the standard we expected from a 5-star resort. There were definite highlights — the food and location were fantastic — but issues with service, drinks, and the spa brought the overall experience down. We effectively had only 6 full days due to late arrival and departure flights, which further reduced the value for money.
Important tip for future guests: When your confirmation says "Monday at 00:00," it actually means Sunday night going into Monday. This caused confusion, and we wrongly believed we had an extra day, which we didn’t.
🛏️ ROOM – Beautiful but Minor Service Lapses
Our room was genuinely lovely — modern, clean, and well-furnished. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was great, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which is vital in that heat.
However, despite leaving our dirty towels in the bath (which is typically the signal to replace them), they weren’t changed. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it’s something you don’t expect at this level of resort.
🍽️ FOOD – Absolutely Outstanding
The food was the true highlight of our stay.
* Buffet: Every night offered variety, freshness, and excellent quality. The food was replenished regularly, regardless of how much was left, which was reassuring and showed commitment to freshness and hygiene.
* À la Carte: We were blown away. The quality was close to Michelin-star level. Beautiful presentation, unique flavor combinations, and genuinely exciting dishes.
* Beach Bar: Another surprise — great selection and delicious food. Options felt fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully chosen.
* Downside: It was disappointing that you had to pay extra for ice creams, even on an all-inclusive package. Feels a bit petty considering the price.
🍹 DRINKS – Major Disappointment for an All-Inclusive Resort
This area really let the experience down.
* The all-inclusive drink selection was very poor. Many cocktails and branded spirits were not included unless you paid an extra €14 per drink — which felt excessive.
* The cocktails that were included often tasted artificial, overly strong, or simply unpleasant. Beer was the only consistently decent option.
* Ordering drinks was also cumbersome: you had to give your room number every single time, even for water. It became frustrating very quickly.
I was especially looking forward to enjoying proper cocktails in the sun, so this was a real letdown.
🍽️ SERVICE – Inconsistent Across the Board
Restaurant Service:
* Service was very slow at times. On multiple occasions, we received our meals before our drinks, and sometimes not at all.
* My partner had to help himself to water from a fridge on several occasions because no one came to our table in time.
Poolside Service:
* Service was fast if you went up yourself to order. Don’t rely on being served while lying on your lounger, though — that barely happened.
Beach Bar:
* Again, food arrived before drinks, which wasn’t ideal in the heat.
* You really had to chase staff to get served — they seemed overwhelmed or understaffed.
Reception:
* Check-in was unremarkable. The staff member who greeted us barely spoke and simply pointed to the concierge. We also paid the expected tourist tax (€105 for the week).
* The concierge was helpful and efficient and took us to our room promptly.
* However, our checkout experience was awful. We had a late flight and were told to return at 19:00 for our courtesy room. We arrived at 18:00, hot and uncomfortable from the beach, and were met by Maria, who was extremely rude and dismissive. She said “no” abruptly, with no explanation or empathy, then rolled her eyes and gave us very dirty looks.
* When we were finally allowed in the room, it was filthy — sand on the floor, dirty wine glasses, and someone’s belongings still inside. No apology was offered, and it genuinely soured the end of our trip.
🎯 ACTIVITIES – Varied and Fun
There was a wide variety of activities available, and most were enjoyable:
* Cocktail Making: Disappointing — it was more of a demonstration than an interactive class. Only two volunteers actually got to make anything.
* Wine Tasting: Lovely experience — three wines (two white, one red) served with cheese and marmalade. Very pleasant.
* Cooking Demonstration: Excellent, though the kitchen area was extremely hot — still, the chef was engaging and skilled.
* Wellness Activities: Yoga and strengthening classes were fantastic. Instructors were friendly and professional.
* Beach Movie Night: A magical evening — watching Mamma Mia under the stars was a real highlight and felt like something out of a movie.
🎉 PARTIES – Good Idea, Poor Execution
We attended the White Party, which had so much potential. The vibe was great, and the DJ/music was spot-on. Claire, the event coordinator, did a fantastic job setting it up.
Unfortunately, the resort completely dropped the ball on staffing:
* There was only one server for the entire event (which was packed) and two overwhelmed bartenders.
* We arrived at 20:00 and got our first (and only) drink at 23:00, right before the party ended. Waiting 3 hours for one drink at an all-inclusive party is just unacceptable.
🏖️ POOLS & BEACH – Nice but Limited
There is only one main pool at the resort. It’s well-maintained but can get quite busy.
* Aqua Fit: A fun activity, though it’s only available on certain days
* On windy days, all sunbeds and umbrellas are taken down for safety — which is good protocol, but guests should be warned to apply extra suncream, as you burn easily without shade.
💆♀️ SPA – Pushy, Lacking Professionalism
This was probably the most disappointing aspect of our stay.
* On our first morning, we visited the spa to collect towels and asked to see the treatment menu. There were no prices listed, and the staff member sat us down and gave a hard sales pitch.
* I felt pressured into booking a massage without being given clear information.
* I booked a lymphatic drainage massage, but the treatment was rushed and incomplete. The therapist (Zoe, who was lovely) only worked on my legs and back — nothing on my stomach, arms, or neck, which are typically included.
* The 40-minute session felt more like 25 minutes, followed by “relaxation” time, which meant sitting on hot stones while being shown an iPad to review and book another service. It completely killed the spa atmosphere.
🚗 EXCURSIONS – Amazing and Worth Exploring
If you’re staying here, I highly recommend renting a car and exploring the island.
* Peacock Sanctuary: A peaceful, magical spot — truly worth the visit.
* Swim to the Island Church: Surreal and beautiful. The snorkelling was some of the best we’ve done — we even saw pufferfish. A highlight of our holiday.
🧾 FINAL VERDICT:
This resort has so much potential — the food, activities, and setting were all wonderful. But the inconsistent and often poor service, the lack of transparency in the spa, and the disappointing drinks experience really dragged down the overall feel.
For a resort advertising itself as 5-star and charging 5-star prices, the execution wasn’t there — particularly in hospitality and guest care. With improved staff training and a better guest service approach, this could be an amazing place. Until then, I wouldn’t return at this price point.
