"Wonderful resort!"

10.0

The resort was wonderful! Lots of different activities to do. Would recommend the spa to anyone. I personally has Sofia! Who gave me a full body massage. Such a lovely resort and amazing environment. The resort is a 10 minute shuttle bus away from Kardamaina and then 45 mins to the Kos town. Both accessible through the resort.

Really lovely week and would recommend to others. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The resort and rooms are very clean. Great choice of food daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the snack bar served lovely Greek food. Around the pool we had no problem gaining a sunbed and it was quite spacious.

"Enjoyed our stay"

8.0

The good - Firstly this is a beautiful hotel and we had a lovely stay. Beautiful pool area but even though you shouldn’t reserve loungers people selfishly did. For a five star hotel you would also expect mattresses in the Loungers. Lovely beach Food was outstanding Rooms were of good size but in need of upgrading. Patio area from room was not cleaned the whole 10 days we were there. Bad - Bar service was appalling not enough staff working behind the bar in the pool bar, beach bar and main bar in the hotel. When ordering drinks in the evening we were typically waiting around 20 - 40 minutes. Beach bar you had to Waite for a certain waiter or waitress to come over to order food and drinks leaving other members of staff standing there when they could be ordering what we needed. Then you waited 10/15 minutes for drinks to arrive because they are talking behind the bar. On the early morning we arrived Sunday 29th June the gentleman behind the reception was unhelpful, didn’t greet us with a smile, just gave us our room card didn’t even explain were we had to go until we asked. Overall do not let this put you off coming to this hotel, just hope they see the reviews and take this into consideration.

"June Stay- 2025"

8.0

Disappointing for the Price – Some Incredible Moments, but Service & Value Didn’t Match Expectations We stayed at this resort for what we hoped would be a relaxing and luxurious break. We paid over £3,000 for our stay, and unfortunately, it didn’t meet the standard we expected from a 5-star resort. There were definite highlights — the food and location were fantastic — but issues with service, drinks, and the spa brought the overall experience down. We effectively had only 6 full days due to late arrival and departure flights, which further reduced the value for money. Important tip for future guests: When your confirmation says "Monday at 00:00," it actually means Sunday night going into Monday. This caused confusion, and we wrongly believed we had an extra day, which we didn’t. 🛏️ ROOM – Beautiful but Minor Service Lapses Our room was genuinely lovely — modern, clean, and well-furnished. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was great, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which is vital in that heat. However, despite leaving our dirty towels in the bath (which is typically the signal to replace them), they weren’t changed. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it’s something you don’t expect at this level of resort. 🍽️ FOOD – Absolutely Outstanding The food was the true highlight of our stay. * Buffet: Every night offered variety, freshness, and excellent quality. The food was replenished regularly, regardless of how much was left, which was reassuring and showed commitment to freshness and hygiene. * À la Carte: We were blown away. The quality was close to Michelin-star level. Beautiful presentation, unique flavor combinations, and genuinely exciting dishes. * Beach Bar: Another surprise — great selection and delicious food. Options felt fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully chosen. * Downside: It was disappointing that you had to pay extra for ice creams, even on an all-inclusive package. Feels a bit petty considering the price. 🍹 DRINKS – Major Disappointment for an All-Inclusive Resort This area really let the experience down. * The all-inclusive drink selection was very poor. Many cocktails and branded spirits were not included unless you paid an extra €14 per drink — which felt excessive. * The cocktails that were included often tasted artificial, overly strong, or simply unpleasant. Beer was the only consistently decent option. * Ordering drinks was also cumbersome: you had to give your room number every single time, even for water. It became frustrating very quickly. I was especially looking forward to enjoying proper cocktails in the sun, so this was a real letdown. 🍽️ SERVICE – Inconsistent Across the Board Restaurant Service: * Service was very slow at times. On multiple occasions, we received our meals before our drinks, and sometimes not at all. * My partner had to help himself to water from a fridge on several occasions because no one came to our table in time. Poolside Service: * Service was fast if you went up yourself to order. Don’t rely on being served while lying on your lounger, though — that barely happened. Beach Bar: * Again, food arrived before drinks, which wasn’t ideal in the heat. * You really had to chase staff to get served — they seemed overwhelmed or understaffed. Reception: * Check-in was unremarkable. The staff member who greeted us barely spoke and simply pointed to the concierge. We also paid the expected tourist tax (€105 for the week). * The concierge was helpful and efficient and took us to our room promptly. * However, our checkout experience was awful. We had a late flight and were told to return at 19:00 for our courtesy room. We arrived at 18:00, hot and uncomfortable from the beach, and were met by Maria, who was extremely rude and dismissive. She said “no” abruptly, with no explanation or empathy, then rolled her eyes and gave us very dirty looks. * When we were finally allowed in the room, it was filthy — sand on the floor, dirty wine glasses, and someone’s belongings still inside. No apology was offered, and it genuinely soured the end of our trip. 🎯 ACTIVITIES – Varied and Fun There was a wide variety of activities available, and most were enjoyable: * Cocktail Making: Disappointing — it was more of a demonstration than an interactive class. Only two volunteers actually got to make anything. * Wine Tasting: Lovely experience — three wines (two white, one red) served with cheese and marmalade. Very pleasant. * Cooking Demonstration: Excellent, though the kitchen area was extremely hot — still, the chef was engaging and skilled. * Wellness Activities: Yoga and strengthening classes were fantastic. Instructors were friendly and professional. * Beach Movie Night: A magical evening — watching Mamma Mia under the stars was a real highlight and felt like something out of a movie. 🎉 PARTIES – Good Idea, Poor Execution We attended the White Party, which had so much potential. The vibe was great, and the DJ/music was spot-on. Claire, the event coordinator, did a fantastic job setting it up. Unfortunately, the resort completely dropped the ball on staffing: * There was only one server for the entire event (which was packed) and two overwhelmed bartenders. * We arrived at 20:00 and got our first (and only) drink at 23:00, right before the party ended. Waiting 3 hours for one drink at an all-inclusive party is just unacceptable. 🏖️ POOLS & BEACH – Nice but Limited There is only one main pool at the resort. It’s well-maintained but can get quite busy. * Aqua Fit: A fun activity, though it’s only available on certain days * On windy days, all sunbeds and umbrellas are taken down for safety — which is good protocol, but guests should be warned to apply extra suncream, as you burn easily without shade. 💆‍♀️ SPA – Pushy, Lacking Professionalism This was probably the most disappointing aspect of our stay. * On our first morning, we visited the spa to collect towels and asked to see the treatment menu. There were no prices listed, and the staff member sat us down and gave a hard sales pitch. * I felt pressured into booking a massage without being given clear information. * I booked a lymphatic drainage massage, but the treatment was rushed and incomplete. The therapist (Zoe, who was lovely) only worked on my legs and back — nothing on my stomach, arms, or neck, which are typically included. * The 40-minute session felt more like 25 minutes, followed by “relaxation” time, which meant sitting on hot stones while being shown an iPad to review and book another service. It completely killed the spa atmosphere. 🚗 EXCURSIONS – Amazing and Worth Exploring If you’re staying here, I highly recommend renting a car and exploring the island. * Peacock Sanctuary: A peaceful, magical spot — truly worth the visit. * Swim to the Island Church: Surreal and beautiful. The snorkelling was some of the best we’ve done — we even saw pufferfish. A highlight of our holiday. 🧾 FINAL VERDICT: This resort has so much potential — the food, activities, and setting were all wonderful. But the inconsistent and often poor service, the lack of transparency in the spa, and the disappointing drinks experience really dragged down the overall feel. For a resort advertising itself as 5-star and charging 5-star prices, the execution wasn’t there — particularly in hospitality and guest care. With improved staff training and a better guest service approach, this could be an amazing place. Until then, I wouldn’t return at this price point.

"Fantastic stay!"

10.0

We returned from here last week, we travelled as a group of 8, including friends and our eldest daughter (who turned 30 on Saturday whilst we were there)! Whilst check in was a little over complicated (I’m not sure I understand the need for wristbands when we had to give our room number every single time we ordered? Surely either give a wristband or ask room number, as both seems excessive each time) we experienced nothing but fantastic service after that point. Staff are all so helpful and friendly.. the staff at the desk are always on held to help and the staff in the restaurant and bar are just incredible. Emmanuel is an absolute credit to the hotel, remembering our drinks order and bringing them to us each evening without us having to ask and he taught me some new Greek phrases (I’ve been learning). Anastasia who serves the outside bar is also absolutely amazing and I also have to give a big shout out to Maria and Renos in the restaurant, for bringing me a cappuccino every morning without me even having to ask! We loved every minute of our stay, we came home feeling refreshed and relaxed. A much needed holiday for us as I’ve been undergoing cancer treatment for the last 6 months whilst still working full time and I didn’t realise how much I needed a holiday until we got here and switched off. Our room (547) was kept lovely and clean and had amazing views.. we couldn’t have wished for better. I just loved sitting on the terrace in the early evening, with my glass of wine, overlooking our private pool and the beautiful sea & mountains - we’ve already been looking at booking to return. Ignore reviews about star ratings etc as they’re just bizarre. Anyone with any common sense knows that a 5 star in Greece is not the same as a 5 star in the U.K., just as a 5 star in the U.K. is not the same as in, say Singapore or the Maldives, for example (we’ve stayed in many). Bizarre that people mention this in their reviews. We’ve stayed at other “5 star” hotels across Greece and this is up there as one of the best we’ve stayed in across Greece. If there was one small criticism or negative about this hotel then I’d have to say it’s the lifeguards. They are absolute kill joys, literally shouting at guests across the pool if they dared to laugh or look like they were having a good time or making a splash by gently dropping in off the side of the pool. On one occasion, our son in law politely asked the male lifeguard if he could take his lilo into the pool, he said yes, and then 20 minutes later the female lifeguard started shouting at them in front of other guests. Highly embarrassing when they’d been given permission! I really don’t understand why there are lifeguards staring at everyone around an adults only pool which isn’t even deep, when surely they’d be much more useful down on the beach where the current was sometimes quite strong. We witnessed 3 guests having medical incidents around the pool and each time, it was other guests who ran to help because the life guards were too busy making sure no one was having fun in the pool so didn’t even notice! Every guest we spoke to had the same feedback about the lifeguards… they even told the TUI reps off for splashing and having fun when it was a pool party! Bizarre. But that one negative aside, this is a fantastic hotel, amazing staff, great food, good evening entertainment (the acts from South Africa were incredible!), great location and great island and we would definitely return. Top tip: highly recommend going into Zia in the evening for the sunset, it’s stunning!
