Location is great for Hout Bay. The room is a big size and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and the swimming pool was a very peaceful spot to relax.

Clear communication around check out times (especially on new years day) when late breakfast is offered, and about which items in the room are chargeable would have been very helpful, at check in, or when booking breakfast. We gave what we thought was constructive feedback about how to improve miscommunications about check out. Having submitted what we felt was a fair score I received a rude personal email accusing us of not paying for chargeable items (i assume water, which we assumed was provided) and being offensive. This seemed very unfair.

We loved the friendly, warm and welcoming staff team, the very comfortable beds and fantastic shower. We also loved the pool - great to have a proper pool you can swim laps in.

It’s worth investigating which room you are booking as they are all very different and due to ours being a very last minute booking we didn’t have the room we probably would have chosen. Very comfortable but dark with very little natural light - however it had a great roof terrace. Also some rooms have quite a few stairs to get to them which may not suit everyone so worth checking on this.

Meggie was so kind and helpful throughout our stay, the guesthouse and our room, Moyo suite, and has all the necessary facilities and gives you that warm african vibe, we appreciate the gifts for our honeymoon a lot, couldn’t love it more! Definitely recommend.

The estate is spacious and rooms are large,the property is well-taken care off. Cecilia is extremely nice and helpful, Maggie sees to her guests on a daily basis.

You can hear the celebratory noises from near-by township until well into the night. The property needs a few handrails to make the steps up to the pool safer for everyone, but especially the 65+ guests.
