Beach Hideaway

We stayed two nights. Very comfortable and clean.They do not change the towels or empty the trash after the first day, so conserve your towels. Take all food to cook as there is no grocery nearby. Great secluded beach.

It is a shame you can't get to the beach (well you could if you had gumboots) - and that the two cabins are so close together- no privacy

We booked the 2 bed cottage and the pictures just didn't do it justice. It was in a beautiful secluded setting with hot tub outside and you could walk down to the beach.

Nice place and good location, actually beyond my expectation. Hopefully next time can spend more days

This experience was very hands off. We got there about 6:30pm to find a phone in a box where you call for the entry code for your unit. There was no staff or anyone to interact with face to face. The entry keypad worked fine, but we couldn't find the hot tub and had questions about the Internet. Also, the closest place to eat was about 20 minutes away. I wish I had known that before I got there- I would have stopped on the way instead of having to drive back through The winding ocean road again in the dark. The cabin was very nice, but could have used a good dusting. I think if I were to do this again, I would have just stayed in Greymouth for the convenience.

Loverley place to stay. So peaceful. Beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Unfortunately let down by a couple of things. The hot tub was cold when we arrived and was was just coming up to temperature as we left. The featured fire pit had no wood and as we could not get down to the beach to get driftwood because of flooding, that was out too. For such a beautifully done studio unit just a shame they used the cheapest appliances they could find e.g toaster and jug. However, having said all that, it was still a magic place to stay.

A great location. Quiet and secluded, it is truly a getaway. Rooms are big and clean. There is no staff on site, but everything is pretty new and modern so the stay went very smoothly with no issues. I was under the assumption there is a path to the beach from the hotel. You can get to the beach from the main access road, but the road is not maintained and would need a high clearance vehicle. You can get to the beach easily if you drive a little further past Barrytown and access the beach from there. But otherwise you have an unobstructed view of the sea and a beautiful sunset sitting on the deck.

Perfect! Very out of the way, private. Great place to go- would definitely return. A couple hundred meters from the ocean, but easy paths to get there, and no obstructing view.
