Beach Hideaway

We had a wonderful time staying here for one night on our honeymoon. Fantastic, spacious and clean with great amenities!! We loved it. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.

We only wanted one night near Punakaiki and were confused by the Beach Hideway postal adders that states Punakaiki, Barrytown - yet it is the other side of Barrytown from Punakaiki and it is a 15 minute drive to the Pancake Rocks. But Beach Hideway as a place to stay for a while looks fine. Our chalet was spacious - two bedrooms - well equipped t hough there were notices up stating that the tumble dryer and 'log fire' were not working - fortunately there was another heater that did work, because, despite being early March it was rather cold. There is a hot tub nearby, and a lovely looking walk to the beach - and it is in a quiet isolated spot. Unfortunately we had a continuous downpour throughout our entire one night stay so couldn't appreciate the place at its best.

So happy we found this place! A highlight stay of our three week nz trip! The owners take great care in making sure the experience is wonderful!!! See the blowholes and pancake rocks and stop for dinner or take use of kitchen!

The villa is really well equipped and well maintained, the location is perfect. There are no on-site staff, and the instructions for gaining entry to the villa required a telephone call on the phone provided. This was fine for us, but the non-English speaking family who arrived just after us would have had some difficulty had we not been there. Perhaps a note on the Beach Hideaway site which can be translated into many languages would be helpful.

Must go back to this hotel!!!!
