Hotel Onegin

Nothing bad to say here about this hotel. They even accommodated my request for 2 beds after checking in. Rooms were clean, Breakfast had a great view, and the location near central Yekaterinburg is perfect. For the price, this is a really good hotel.

But don't book third party or you'll pay more and you won't get breakfast. The hotel is part of a business center on the first floor which is a bit confusing since the hotel lobby and rooms are on upper floors.

We gave 4 cause we think this is a very good 4 stars Hotel. Good quality sleep, spacious, clean & very quite rooms, but furniture are a bit tired. A very good money value for the category and definitely less anonymous and cold than the "chain hotels in town".

Excellent hotel.

Terrible experience

Very good hotel with very large and clean rooms. It is located about a 7 minute walk to where you can start the red line self walk which takes you to all the major sites of the city. Only criticism was that the double bed was just two singles pushed together, which I know is not unusual but this one had a very uncomfortable dip in the middle. Despite this and considering the quality and price of the hotel I would stay there again.

Well located within walking distance to shopping/dining. Friendly and helpful staff. Good option for a business stay.

This hotel is average. Desk staff spoke English. Lunch restaurant staff did not speak English (nor was there an English language menu). Rooms appear to be geared for business travelers (only one bath towel, etc). Did kind of like the bedside Onegin paperback... pity I couldn't read it. Net access was slow.

The Onegin Hotel is centrally located in downtown Ekaterinburg and has a very pleasant and knowledgeable staff. It seemed strange to go to the ninth floor of the building to check in, but that's also the location of the excellent bar and lounge. The restaurant serves excellent food and has an attentive staff. For me, the biggest negative and potential show-stopper for a summer stay is the poor air conditioning. There was no way to open the window in my room and the air conditioning on high all night would not get the room temperature below 27C/81F and it was in 0C/32F outside. That's a scary thought for a summertime stay!

Strange floor plan in rooms. . . when wanting to get something from your suitcase, you must walk down the short hall past the restroom to the entry nook. Also, the narrow room leaves room for one person to walk past the end of the nice bed, and I gashed my chin on the bed frame. Other than this, nice clean, workable room - superb staff (the best). Location is not near enough to a mall or other restaurants to warrant walking 10 minutes in sub-zero windy winter weather. Luckily, the restaurant on the bottom floor was amazingly good. Breakfast on top floor was nothing special and hot dishes were only room temperature.
