"Disappointed"

4.0

Good things about the hotel: the sea view. The hotel looks very old,the entrance looks like a high school, and indications aren't clear. We got a sea view room. The rooms is basic, no fridge inside, not much furniture and need to be renovated. The bathroom was ok. Wifi doesn't work and you need to get a code from the reception to use it, and it doesn't work anyway. I used my data all the time. The reception staff is very bad, at the check in they didn't give us any infos, and sometimes they are not there so if you need something it's your problem. The phone in the room didn't work so we couldn't even call them. The worst part was the breakfast. They say it's included but what you will get it's only one croissant one coffee and a juice. When I asked for more croissants for me and my boyfriend, they said I would have to pay for it. But there is no other food so we were starving and obviously wanted more croissants. I arrived at 8 and was told breakfast didn't start yet. Big lie, cause it starts at 7. They don't even give a price of bread and salami.. it's very basic, they should explain that at the check in or before the booking. I met other guests that were heaving the same troubles and they tried to charge me 10 euros for a plate with salami and cheese. The private beach of the hotel is basically just rocks and it's horrendous, dirty, and the other part of the public beach is busy and loud. If you want a sunbed they will charge you a lot (13 euros per day). There is a restaurant beside which is not related to the hotel and that's a big plus, they are amazing, polite and they atmosphere and food is great. The hotel has a bar which is expensive, and it closes at 7 so if you wanna go for drinks forget it. A big plus is the guy of the massages mr gavino. He is cheap, professional very polite and honest. And would listen to all your requests. If you walk up to la pailotte restaurant you will find another rocky beach but it's clean and so cool to go diving in it, from there we seen the dolphins too, it was very nice. I can't reccomend this hotel, we came here for our anniversary and it was very bad, the second day the 2 restaurants around were fully booked so we had to order a pizza, otherwise the hotel doesn't offer any alternative to eat they don't have a bar or something open at night.

"Desolate. Avoid at all costs."

2.0

I’ve taken some time before posting this because I’ve had to choose my words carefully. We went on a 4 night trip as a mother and daughter duo for a bit of a fun break. This place is like the innermost circle of hell. There’s no bar, there’s a “sort-of” bar and the man, presumably one of the owners, who tends it just can’t be bothered to open it and then presumes you can’t read the menu and tries to charge more than what it says. Numbers are the same in Italian and English mate so no dice there. The restaurant next; they said it’s reservation only when we went for dinner. I said ok can I make a reservation now? They said that I could. I said can I reserve a table for right now? They said that I could. So what exactly is the point in making it reservation only. Next point on the restaurant, everything is honestly revolting and dripping in oil. Why did we eat there every night instead of going anywhere else? I’m so glad you asked. The reason for this is that there is NOTHING nearby. If you go up the road there is another restaurant/bar which for some very bizarre reason is sponsored by Audi, but this closes for the rest of the day if it rains for half an hour in the day. The same is true of the “cafe/bar” next door to the hotel. This is neither a cafe or a bar, it’s more like a little coffee kiosk. Sure, there’s a beach next door but what they don’t tell you is that it’s the worlds tiniest beach and the ice cream counter only opens for a couple hours a day. Probably not if it rains at any point in the day though. The place is surrounded by an old military base and there’s just huge bins overflowing with rubbish everywhere, obviously Calamosca is the dumping ground of Sardinia. The busses only show up when they feel like it (probably not at all if it’s rained at any time during the day) and we couldn’t ask anyone at reception to book a taxi because they didn’t speak English and pretended they couldn’t understand me when I spoke Italian (and it’s not me, i managed fine in “proper” Italy so it’s them). The hotel itself looks like it was refurbished as recently as 1950 and just left since then. The place is literally a time capsule. I wouldn’t cry if this place just dropped off the map honestly, save your money and just go somewhere good because this place is NOT it.

"Incubo vissuto"

"A pleasant stay"

6.0

The hotel is simple and could have a bit lower prices, since the furniture is old and the bathroom aren't super clean. It is situated quite far away of the town, near the small beach. If you want to escape from the city live, this is perfect for you. The staff doesn't speak in English, but they are extremely kind. They have a good breakfast and an amazing restaurant for lunch and dinner.

Hotel is very Old (80s), without a mini fridge. No lift, wifi is a nightmare not everywhere theres reception and you need to log in a million times. Beds are uncomfortable. The view is nice but not worth the money.

"Outdated hotel in between military zones"

4.0

We were surprised when we arrived to the hotel. Outside it looks very outdated and it is between military zones. There is a small public beach which was super full as it is not the hotel's beach. Hotel has a garden with sunbeds but these need to be booked and paid separately even if you are a guest in the hotel and private beach is practically impossible to get into the water due to the rocks. Breakfast was really small but somewhat acceptable for 3 start hotel. At least we managed to upgrade to a seaview room and staff was really friendly and helpful. Would not stay again here though.

"A bit outdated"

6.0

Stayed here two night just at the beginning of the season so they were just starting up it seemed. Nice old fashioned style staff in a hotel who seemed to have seen better times. Nice location and view, but the paint is almost peeling off. Restaurant is quite OK, shower was only handheld in our room, but to compensate that we had a big balcony since we had the corner room. The bar next door is definately a plus.

"Do your research first!"

8.0

Bad points. No coffee machine in room, breakfast no toaster. No English TV channel. Hotel is not photogenic from outside. 3* is pushing the limit! Ave points. If you know what the breakfast is you won’t be disappointed, nothing hot, very continental, get up, go get a fresh made coffee for room, then go for another coffee and some breakfast. Reasonably priced. Good points. Great staff. Outside terrace bar was nice. Great view from sea facing rooms. Rooms good sized and modern, bathroom was same, maybe some upkeep done compared to when previous reviews where submitted. Hotel has a quirkiness that may not suit all, if you want quite area, great. We found Taxi’s easy to book through reception and will cost about 15 euros to Cagliari centre, so something to factor in.
