Worst experience

Extremely disappointing experience at Pine Ridge Hotel, Darjeeling. The hotel is surviving only on its so-called heritage tag. The staff was rude and unprofessional, showing no hospitality whatsoever. Room service was terrible and extremely slow. To make matters worse, they even asked us to arrange/pay for a porter for our luggage instead of assisting guests properly. The washroom was in pathetic condition. The toilet and shower were among the worst I've experienced in any hotel. The rooms and facilities are nowhere near what you would expect for the price charged. Absolutely not worth the money. It feels like guests are being looted in the name of a "heritage hotel." I would not recommend this property to anyone visiting Darjeeling. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

The hotel location was perfect.Hotel service was also good, clean.It was a vintage property.Although need little renovation nd in house restaurent.However we are satisfied and will visit nxt time for sure.

The bed and the wardrobe need to be renovated.

If you're considering Pine Ridge Hotel based on the photos, I'd strongly advise lowering your expectations. The images are extremely misleading and bear little resemblance to the actual condition of the property. What appears online as a charming heritage stay is, in reality, a poorly maintained building with damp walls, musty smells, stained surfaces, and a general lack of cleanliness. The hotel enjoys a prime location in Chowk Bazaar, but that comes with a significant downside that many reviews fail to mention. The area remains active late into the night, making it difficult to get a peaceful night's sleep due to constant traffic and market noise. The property undeniably has character. The British-era architecture and vintage furniture hint at what could have been a truly memorable heritage hotel. Unfortunately, instead of preserving that charm, management seems to have confused neglect with authenticity. Aging furniture, deteriorating interiors, and lack of upkeep do not create a vintage atmosphere—they create an uncomfortable one. Cleanliness is where the experience becomes particularly disappointing. We found pigeon droppings on the curtains, sofas that looked as though mould and fungus had settled in permanently, and washrooms that were in a condition I'd rather not describe in detail. Basic hygiene standards appeared to be an afterthought. The hotel also leans heavily into stories about being "haunted" or "spirited." Frankly, the only thing haunting this place is the complete lack of maintenance. At least a ghost might have added some entertainment value to the stay. Instead, guests are paying a premium for a property that trades on its history while doing very little to preserve it. What makes this especially frustrating is the wasted potential. The architecture, location, and heritage value are genuinely impressive.
