Bakers Motel Norwich

The front of the motel looked ok, I had high hopes, but then we got to where our room was & that was a different story. There was a creepy guy sitting outside his room smoking weed while his baby mama rode around the parking lot on a hover board holding a baby. His large truck was parked on the sidewalk in front of our door. The overall vibe of the motel was that it wasn't the safest place to stay.

Return customer…Clean, inexpensive place to stay with courteous staff when working out of town.

Bed and doors a bit creaky, but I had a nice quiet night otherwise. The man at the front desk was super nice. Very good for the price.

I like to give my business to locally owned and not big chain businesses. This one is an older building but well-loved and well maintained. The very major problem I had was the AWFUL bedding! It consisted of 2 pillows that were in hard crackly plastic protective pillowcases, a flat (not fitted) mattress protector that sorta floated around and balled up under us. Two flat sheets (no fitted sheet!), then the ornamental bedspread (no blanket!) Waking up on the bare mattress in a hotel is not a good way to start the day. YUCK!

I have always stayed hear when I am in the area just a great place.

After 7 days of travel, staying on hotels, We thought From reading the reviews, this was an older, but clean, updated motel…WRONG!! Dont be fooled my the clean gravel parking lot, mowed lawn, and nicely manicured shrubs… the rooms are disgusting!!! Our room smelled Like pet urine— we actually were given spray room deodorizer when we voiced concern with the the desk person. Cobwebs on the walls/ceiling, old shampoo cap in the shower… a spider fell out of the hand towel!!! The tiles looked old asbestos tiles that they attempted to paint over! Needless to say, we found another hotel down the road for the might!! Do NOT spend your money here!!!!

It was clean and tidy

Cheap old motel. Office closed about 9PM and they sent me a code to open the door, which worked OK. However, I prefer a human being to interact with, in case something goes wrong. A first: they had cut the cord to cable TV, which I had never seen before. You could only get Roku streaming channels, which didn't have my favorites, like MSNBC. I did like the old fashioned tile shower. Did I mention there was no breakfast, or even coffee makers in the room?

The shower stall was a little cramped, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a motel with a comfort height toilet. Aging knees may appreciate that. The TV has a Roku setup, but i"m not familiar with Roku so I got little ue from it.

Friendly check in, accommodated our special parking needs. Beautiful neighborhood. Free coffee in the lobby too!
