Dukes Head Hotel Kings Lynn

Pluses: Loved the staircase. Second room we upgraded to was super - overlooking the market place. Spacious. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice toiletries. The bar is nice (no real ale for some reason). Car parking available which is useful.

Minuses: The female bar staff I encountered didn’t have a good attitude. First room we were offered was a dingy place. We upgraded. It has faded glory but I’d say that’s probably reflected in the price.

Great location, decent breakfast.

Hotel parking was overpriced, parked in a pay and display for under a third of the price. Room quite cold, heating would go to a warmer setting, but we were provided with a little heater for the room.

To begin with we were given a very small, stuffy room, but when asked if there was another option we were given a much nicer, larger room which was very nice. Nice meal in the restaurant. All very clean. Great service by several people in the bar too.

The check-in process was efficient, but the welcome felt somewhat lacking. The receptionist seemed a little reserved and not especially engaging. A warmer, friendlier approach would have made the arrival experience more pleasant.

Great breakfast and good location

The cosy double was an attic room with window looking onto roof. Broken window blind was unsuccessfully nailed on. Last set of steps precarious with no banister or handles at top. WiFi was good

We stayed one night in early May. Great start as we were able to check in slightly earlier. The rooms were quite petite but fully stocked clean and comfy. Hotel is lovely. We arrived by train so didn’t need parking. Breakfast was typical buffet style. Would have been a little more relaxing if there wasn’t a huge German tour group all eating at the same time! Just bad timing on our part. Staff were lovely we had a nice cool drink from the bar sat outside as it was lovely weather. Would definitely go back.

The staff were friendly, location was fab.

Breakfast was expensive, especially for a child, then there was hardly anything available unless we waited 20 minutes. Disappointed child who was looking forward to hotel pastries!
