Room was large and clean, bed was comfortable

We stayed in the unit beside reception with large glass sliding doors and specifically requested, both by email and in person, that our room not be serviced during our stay. The property’s own information booklet states that guests can opt out of daily servicing by messaging or advising reception, which is exactly what we did. Despite sending emails before servicing hours on both mornings and speaking directly with the manager after the first incident, staff still entered our room on both days while we were out sightseeing. Each time we returned to find the curtains left fully open, allowing people walking past reception to see directly into the room. This completely disregarded the privacy concerns we had clearly explained. The manager later responded that they had not seen the emails in time and that cleaning staff “just do what they do every day.” While an apology was offered, I found it unacceptable that repeated written and verbal requests were ignored, especially after the issue had already been raised following the first entry. We had already been maintaining the room ourselves by making the bed, washing dishes and removing rubbish, so there was no necessity for staff to enter. Respecting a guest’s clearly communicated request for privacy should not be difficult.

Although we only stayed for one night we highly enjoyed our stay. The check-in was very easy, the studio perfectly clean, everything looked brand new and had lots of additional items. The cookies were delicious! We booked studio no. 5 which goes to the backyard and was totally quiet at night even with open window. Downtown with lots of cafes and restaurants is only a short and easy walk away. We would definitely stay here again.
