Hedong Citycenter Hotel

the hotel was clean, staff don't speak english and they are not so helpful so don't expect to much, the bed are hard and you will come back with a back pain

walk distance to all the attractions and the metro stations. no facilities in the hotel, almost everything in the room need to pay so see properly before opening or using them. no fridge in the room. room quite new, bed really very hard. food and mini marts nearby. neighbourhood quiet and peaceful. me a girl going alone, walking outside alone late at night also no problem

pros: low price, quiet environment. cons: old facility with moderate maintenance, bad sound-proof, every thing including drinking water is NOT free. ps: 1.wrong hotel name, it is called 'Hedong hotel' without 'city centre', 2. wrong mapping, it is not located as in the map of expedia, so better google it.

The hotel was better than I expected from previous reviews. The location was good for me, close to Grand Theatre MTR and the KK100. The room cleanliness was ok and the room itself was large for one! The check in was straight forward but the service wasn't great, maybe due to my lack of Chinese? The only issue for me was the fact that the mattress itself was very very firm which is not my own preference. I would stay again if visiting Shenzhen as it is good value for a 1 night stay.

We stayed at this hotel in July and during our stay, the hotel was undergoing renovation. The room was pretty big but it was clear that it has seen better days. Plumbing was abysmal. Nonetheless, the hotel was conveniently located and is only a few minutes walk to Laojie and other shopping areas. Also, it's considerably cheaper compared to other hotels in the area.

Among the cheapest stay in the area, not expected anything grand. Important: if you hate cigar smoke, this place is not for you. second hand smoke is pumping through the air con opening and the cooling was not good. i told the receptionist about it, they gave me some air spray like srsly. i just had to turn it off, but i woke up at 6 am because i felt too hot. Room itself was okay though. View was nice, a waving flag since i lived on lower floor. if you're a smoker maybe it could be a nice stay for you. great location near some mall, with convenience store and food store nearby. finding the entrance took some time, you have to walk by the river.

The He Dong is well situated just off Shennan Boulevard and equidistant to two Metro stations, Grand Theater and Laojie. The staff, however, seem unaware of the best ways of accessing these stations, or even how close Laojie is. The hotel has seen better days, but tries to maintain standards of cleanliness and propriety. Perhaps the two hefty cockroaches in the bathroom were trying to secure the seat to the toilet bowl. Left alone they might have replaced the light bulb we gave up asking about. Cupboard doors needed to be treated with consideration to keep them in one piece and properly closed. Air conditioning was elderly and noisy. Let it be said though, the cleaning lady was very good at her work, changing bedlinen every day, and a delightful person generally. Hotels in China provide a bottle of water per person per day and likewise some teabags. We have quite some experience over time and geography of this practice. At the He Dong, there were the two bottles. They weren't replaced; or would be for 5Yuan/bottle. At 2Yuan/bottle at the shop next door ... When we departed we had 10Yuan deducted from our deposit for those first two bottles. It was an attitude that pervaded the place. We were told when the dining rooms were open and what they served. The reality was so unreliable we ate out. So, great location, but not functioning as it should.

Older Hotel with large rooms, a nice price tag, good location and easy walking distance to good shopping, markets, a large variety of places to eat and MTR is nearby to get on the train and explore the city. As first time visitor we had trouble getting our bearings and google maps dosen't work well in China ( print a map before you go) Location is close to Luohu boarder crossing take MTR from Luohu to Guomao station take exit E to Jiabin Rd Walk 3 blocks to Yanhe E Rd, Hedong city center hotel is located beside the river.
