American Hotel

My experience at this hotel was horrible and would not recommend their accommodations if you are looking for a hotel in the Freehold area. We booked our room online and it was supposed to be a King size bed and it was not, very disappointing. Secondly the power went out at the hotel Sunday 4/23 which was out of their control but was not handled with the customers safety in mind. We had to walk down 3 flights of stairs with luggage and was never asked by employees if we needed any help. Lighting did not exist on the stairwell from floors 3 down to 2. We manage to get down to the first floor and find employees sitting on the couch and no one moved or asked if we needed anything. The icing on the cake was the belongings that were accidentally left in our room due to leaving in darkness were conveniently never found. I called the hotel on Sunday afternoon and was told I would receive a call from the hotel manager and never did. I made a phone call 3 days later to finally get a return phone call from the hotel manager. The hotel manager was not understanding or helpful with the issues we had. This was a horrible experience!!

Great food dining and very clean

First time staying at this hotel, coke to find out that Abraham Lincoln also slept at this hotel. He slept on 3rd. Floor. Historical Building and surroundings.

Biggest complaint was no available morning coffee except bad stuff in the room. No breakfast available.

Nice hotel. Small and cozy. Had a nice time with our family celebration.

What a great place to stay. Was within walkway distance of most food, stores, etc. The parking was easy and accessible. I could have stayed at a little cheaper place but they were a ways away from everything and not within walking distance which I liked. I would definitely stay again.

We ordered the steak dinner. The portion ws generous. The flavor was outstanding. The price wasn't nearly as bad as in other restaurants. The bartender was friendly. The service was very good. The ambience is quite romantic. Evidently they (recently?) renovated this hotel (in the past 5 years?). I would eagerly return, which, for me, is unusual. I would even order the same steak dinner !

While it was a nice enough looking hotel and the beds were comfortable (aside from the very small pillows), the sound travel from the lobby/bar into our room was ridiculous. This hotel needs to work on its sound proofing. My family was even assured we would be away from the noise of the party happening but we were obviously lied to. And to top it off, after the noise in the lobby died down by 1, and the loud drunk people staying at the hotel finally stopped screaming and pounding away in the halls by 2am, the vacuum cleaner started up at 4:45am. Five of my family members got maybe three hours of sleep the night we stayed and all vowed we would never stay here again.
