Hemingway's Hotel

It is really easy to locate our hotel as it is just in front of a shop which has a huge crab logo. It is also relatively near to the beach, the night life as well as the Jungceylon Shopping centre. The staff is very friendly and very helpful during our stay. They welcome all questions asked by the people staying in the hotel.

Unsure is due to the rainy season, the hotel had encountered electric blackout twice a day. Very disappointing as there was no emergency corridor lights at all and we had to use our torchlight to lead our way down to the reception when I had to check out early in the morning. However, the hotel staffs are quite helpful and the room is maintained well.

Short 3 min. walk to Bangla walking street (bar district) without the noise. It's a bit difficult to find upon arrival. Staff was able to accommodate early check-in and late check out. Roof top pool is clean and pleasant with great happy hour priced drinks. Will return to stay at same hotel next visit to Patong Beach as staff is very pleasant with great service.

Be aware there are more than one location of this hotel!!! I booked this one by mistake as my friends were staying at the other location. Room was kinda small, but the bed was to my liking (a little on the firm side.) The area is under A LOT of construction, which makes walking around more difficult and real dirty. It is about a four block walk to the bars and night clubs. The staff was VERY attentive, even after I was a little difficult at the beginning due to me booking the wrong location. If you want a taxi or transfer to the airport, make sure you arrange it at least 24 hours in advance. The staff will help, but last minute taxi's are difficult. Overall, good value for the money. While I would rather stay at the other Hemingways Hotel, I would stay here again with no problem.

Everything was pretty good. Nice, relatively small, tidy place. Hot water, aircon, room service are there. Beware that it takes a lot of time to cook anything at the restaurant on the first floor. There were also roadworks on nearby street, which made it pretty dirty and noisy. But they should finish it in couple months. Hotel is pretty far from Patong (15 min walk) be ready for that.

Decent, clean and tidy hotel. For AUD 55 a night, it is a good shelter for a night or two.

I was a little disappointed by the miscommunication about what the "free" breakfast was. I asked SEVERAL times at check in what exactly I could order for breakfast and they said anything. And of course I ordered anything on the menu. Come to find out at check-in I had to pay for the breakfast's I ordered. I was supposed to get some voucher that no one gave me. Needless to say I was quite upset about this at check-out. The surrounding area of the hotel is under construction which makes leaving the hotel difficult without getting dirty from all the dust or mud from the previous nights rain. Also the road you must cross is very narrow without a sidewalk so you're scared you may get hit by traffic. The location would be convenient once all the construction but as of now it's just a pain. To sum it up, I don't think I'll be staying at the hotel again.

Good clean, no pool but good location and no extra 1000 for sudden friend like other hotels.
