Hemingways hotel offers good value, clean accommodation in a (usually) quiet Soi - 5 mins walk to night life and 10 mins to the beach. I have stayed there many times before. UNFORTUNATELY, there are major building works either side of the hotel that appear to be in their infancy. From 7am to 7 pm, 7 days a week. Very disappointed that this was not stated prior to booking, would have gone elsewhere....so whilst the building goes on...sorry, but AVOID!!

The hotel was new, clean, nicely decorated, cheap, big room with balcony, cleeeaaan room and i was very pleased! i paid next to nothing for the room and was glad not to end up at a roach motel. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was on a more quiet side street but 5 min or less from the most popular bar street and the beach. Party noises didn't travel to my 2nd floor room even though i was facing the street. They were constructing a hotel next door but that noise didn't bother me either. gladly recommend it!

Overall the stay is nice for New Year countdown but encounter some bad point to improvement 1) The hotel is not in any of the phuket map 2) They mistake my twin bedroom into queen bed room - end up no more twin bedroom & give me a superior room instead 3) My last day stay (around 5am) no water for shower or wash-up

A good comforatable small hotel in Padong downtoan, very near to shopping mall and restaurants.

i think a reasonable hotel in a quiet location normally but at the minute they are building a new extension to another hotel next door,so is very noisy now. i would not reccomend staying in this hotel for the next 3 months due to the noise after 2 nights i changed to there other hotel which was much quiter and very near nightlife of bangla road

First at all, hotels.com provide us the wrong contact number so driver keep on looking for the location. We take around one hour to look for the hotel, most of local people not even know name of this hotel, they only know the Andakira hotel which is next to it. If you are looking for cheap accommodation then this should be one of your choice but if you are looking for quality accommodation with same location, then you better choose Andakira which is just next to it. By the time we reach there, there is an old lady at reception. We ask for explanation on wrong contact provided. She just check and let it be and never apologized at all. As other reviewer said, she is really rude and not responsible at all. When you request something about the room, she will forever said no. The cleaner's attitude even better than her! About the room, you can hear clearly sound from next door. Can you imagine that when your neighbour come back at mid night and turn on the tv loudly, you really will get mad on it!!! When you complain to reception, they just call up to the room and inform guest to lower the volume. You can even hear the phone ringing. As conclusion, I will never recommend this hotel to friends, except they don't mind on quality of hotel then I will only say good luck to them.

Great hotel and very friendly staff and owner. The hotel is located on a quiet side street near several other hotels. It is a about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach, which can be a little bit far in the middle of the day when it is very hot out. However, that also means it is very quiet near the hotel and you do not feel like you are actually staying in the middle of the busy and over built Patong area. The bathrooms, in particular the showers, are great. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Exellent value for money, very good restuarant. Waitress was very professional. No view or pool. We needed accom for 2 nights only so did not need seaview etc. This hotel is in a very quiet street ( we realized this is a must in Patong) only about 10-15 min walk to Patong Beach but it takes a bit longer because you pass thru Bang La Rd( about 500m from hotel to Bang La Rd) where you, of course, stop all along the way. Jungceylon is closer than the beach. First time in Phuket, we found the location perfect and were very happy to be in a quiet area. Arrange pickup with the hotel (it's cheaper) or be sure to have directions because Taxi's don't know this hotel.
