Econo Lodge Galveston Seawall

The location is great. It's like two blocks give or take from the pleasure pier, It's right on seawall boulevard you walk across the street and you walk onto the beach.

I did not like how after I checked in, which was way after the check-in time, there was somebody else's dirty towel hanging in the bathroom on the shower curtain pole. I went to the front desk to just simply mention it and ask for some fresh towels and all I got was attitude from the receptionist. She gave me instant rebuttal an attitude almost offended and told me that was her aunt who was cleaning the rooms and I told her I understood because I seen it was just a little old lady doing the cleaning but yet she still took offense to me simply asking for clean towels. She acted as if it was a inconvenience for her to do what her family had not done. The next day I noticed there there were some spots on the sheets and blankets that I had noticed the night before and I went to the desk, with the same receptionist, and ask for clean linens, even told her I would change them myself if she would just bring them to me, and all I got was attitude and dismissed by her telling me I don't have to wait there she'll bring them to me when she can. I tried to explaining to her we would be going out to eat and would like the clean linens so that we could change them before we left. I waited outside my room for her for 15 minutes and she never showed up. I went back to the front desk and she said well you know what I'm not housekeeping so I didn't know where the stuff was but you can lose your attitude with me. Not professional. Completely rude. Will not be staying here again due to lack of human decency and the fact that I had simply ask for clean sheets and she acted as if I had asked for so much more. Did the property meet your expectations No bonus question how would you rate the size of your room

I paid $209.00 for one night. Out of loyalty I booked anyway. I had a great experience in the past but this time was greatly disappointed. The price was high, there was poop smeared on the toilet, and we didn't have any hot water. The only thing they offered was I could cancel and leave at 8:00 p.m. This means I had to clean the toilet myself which was disgusting and we couldn't shower. They didn't offer anything. No discounted rate, no free night to make up for it, NOTHING! Just told me I could leave if I didn't like it. I will NOT be staying there in the future. I paid over $200 and couldn't even shower. I could have paid $98 down the road at the Holiday Inn. I will no longer pay the higher price out of loyalty because they didn't even attempt to make it right. This was my 3rd stay at this hotel and I never had a problem until this stay.

It's on the Seawall, so view of beach was excellent. Walk across Seawall Blvd to walk down to beach. That was good -- location. The motel was what I expected, so I gave an overall 3. It's old and in need on lots of cosmetic attention. Our room had newer laminate and tile flooring but walls showed past patches and was in need of new drywall and paint. Air conditioning unit worked well but the fins on front of the unit hadn't been cleaned in months, I imagine. Bathroom tub had serious rust stains and needs to be replaced. The owners need to let go of some of their profits for a few years and do some serious maintenance and repair. Some staff were friendly and other staff had little skill in public relations and dealing with the public. Some appeared to be happy you were there, while others seemed to care the less. We stayed one night as planned, and it was okay, bedding and room were clean, but will probably seek out another motel when we make another visit to Galveston.

The view of the beach was fine I do not own a vehicle so parking if not an issue
