"It was great, would have loved staying longer, can’t wait to come back."

8.0

Perfect location, beautiful, tastefully decorated building, gorgeous spaces filled with plant life. Helpful and attentive reception desk employees.

Street noise and a loud night club nearby sadly makes sleeping rather difficult in some of the rooms.

"Charming, Cozy and Attentive"

10.0

My wife and I spent two wonderful weeks at Mérida’s Hotel Casa San Ángel in February 2025. The profuse and carefully -tended vegetation in the atrium made it hard to remember we were in the center of a city of a million people. Cozy rockers in the hallway surrounding the patio invited daydreaming, reading, and enjoying the play of light on the plants. Our bed was comfortable. The AC and fan worked flawlessly. Water pressure in the shower was strong. A good restaurant, Tala, is attached to the hotel, and a continental breakfast—with excellent coffee, freshly-baked bread, and fruit—was included in the room rate. We gladly paid extra for supplementary dishes, such as Tala’s award-winning huevos motuleños, tricolor enchiladas, and crepes. Upon returning from breakfast, we always found our bed made and fresh towels hung. ¡Grácias, Cristina y María! The bilingual receptionists took our laundry each morning and returned it, air-dried, that afternoon. They graciously complied with unusual requests, e.g. finding a yoga mat to lend. They ordered taxis that showed up within a few minutes, and that charged no more than those I hailed on the street. They arranged two low-cost and wonderful cenotes tours—one of them at the last minute. All of the staff were warm and friendly. We loved Mérida, and our stay at this hotel was the best part of it.

"We will stay there again."

Such a special gem. Definitely meeting the boutique category. Beautiful. Very convenient and staff will go above & beyond to help.

Wish parking was more convenient but staff willing to step up to help. Parking is very tight in that area of the city.

"A great find !"

10.0

This is a great fantastic hotel ! we have stayed here 5 times now and will definitely return. The hotel is centrally located so exploring Merida on foot is quite easy. The staff of the hotel, restaurant and gift shop are very friendly and most helpful, not only with directions but also with Spanish lessons. 👏. The hotel is clean and comfortable. A great find and it comes highly recommended 👍👍

"This is a very clean, comfortable hotel with a very attentive staff and great location."

9.0

This is a very clean, comfortable hotel with a very attentive staff and great location. The daily breakfast (coffee, fresh fruit, and a pastry) was exactly what I wanted to start my day and the perfect way to meet my friends to plan our day.

This is a minor complaint, but I wish there was a way to turn on the shower without having to stand under the spray so that the water reaches the proper temperature first. I couldn't figure out a way to do this without water spraying onto the bathroom floor.

"Great location with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby."

7.0

Interesting building and interior design. Good size room and bathroom. On site restaurant was pretty decent and reliable for breakfast.

Main problem was loud music from a pizza restaurant across the street until 1:00 am every night except Monday. Get a room away from calle 49. Parrots in the lobby during the afternoon were also a little annoying at times. Pool was not very clean.

Beautiful space convenient to Paseo de Montejo. A bit far from the Plaza Grande but a safe and pleasant walk. Our major complaint was that the property stated no children under 12 but there were two younger children in the room next door that woke us up several times due to their incessant screaming. There was also a lot of noise at night from the karaoke bar next door and the concerts/events hosted just outside our room (the latter may have been just due to Merida Fest, but we aren’t sure)
