Newport Inn By OYO - Hwy 101

I had low expectations, but even that isn't going to prepare you for how uncomfortable you are going to be here. The location is the only thing going for it. Oh, the water pressure was good, and the tub drained fast!

1. No ventilation. The ceiling fan can not make it comfortable. There are no screens on the window, so even in the room, you won't want the window open. 2. The bed is like a roller skate. We had to push it against the wall to feel like you could sit on the edge safely. The mattress is decent, but the pillows have absolutely NO business being used. Flat and dirty. Disgusting! 3. I'm pretty sure the floors were mopped with sand. Keep your shoes on. 4. Nowhere to keep your luggage. One small desk with the TV on it. 5. Bring a sleep mask because the security lights right outside the window will make you believe it's noon when you wake in the middle of the night. The window has "blackout" curtains, but they are too small and too far from the wall, so light bleeds past them. 6. Broken handrail on the stairs makes it a dangerous climb. Dangerous! We checked out a day early because it was so awful. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The staff was very friendly but that certainly doesn't make up for the rest!

price was good. bed could be replaced, and tub need anti-slip in the bottom of it.

I spoke to a lady on the phone that assured me that this hotel was very clean and had comfortable rooms. We arrived at the Inn and checked in, parked in the back lot and proceeded to get our luggage. We felt very uncomfortable when we got out of the car to see people barbecuing in the parking lot who looked rather sketchy. Then we walked up the stairs to find a door opened next to our room with a man laying on the bed with his box fan in the doorway. There were a lot of people walking up and down the stairs and in the corridors. My family and I were all very disappointed as the room was very small and hard to even walk around the beds. The side chair looked very soiled and no one wanted to sit there. The two small closets had no bars to hang our clothes. There was no carpet on the floors and that made us feel uncomfortable walking barefooted. We found specs of food on our blankets which made us feel very anxious. There was no air conditioning in the room, just one small box fan and no place to set it up without tripping over it. At this point we were very reluctant to stay at this hotel. Needless to say none of us slept very well that night. I would never recommend the Newport Inn by OYO to anyone. This was not a reasonable price for a room of this caliber. I will not give this hotel even a one star rating. On our way back through Newport heading home we found the Comfort Inn in Newport and it had an ocean view for $229.36. Now that was a much better deal all around with a much nicer hotel which was very clean.

The location was great. Right on the side of the 101 near multiple hot spots in newport. Room offered a lot of space. Room was clean. Staff was nice. Other guest were friendly as well.

No a/c unit felt weird having the window open with the fan in front and no screen.

They booked me and my family across from an employee, only access room and there were people going in and out of it all night that were not employees. The employee on staff was a drug addict. And let his cronies in and out of this room, getting high all night.We did not get any sleep..... Tons of no smoking signs yet everyone is smoking at third doorways No one's at the front desk to complain to I. Called, it's a complain, 1015 times no one responded. I called customer service.They said there's nothing they can do about it.Contact the front desk..... I wish there was legal action. I could take to get my money back. You guys are a sad excuse for a family friendly place to stay.....

This is a very low budget motel and didn’t feel safe or clean. I stayed out as long as I could to avoid it and got up at dawn to leave. Guest beware!

The bed was terrible and dirty no bed bugs plus but hair and gross stains on the mattress that didn't look like it had been clean just let dry no air conditioning a fan that you put in the window but only half the fan blows the cold air in light outside window so when the lights are off it looks like daytime outside it was horrible did not sleep for two nights

When we arrived, our first room smelled like cigarette smoke badly and there was damage to all the furniture from previous guests. We asked to move to another room, where one of the bedside lamps did not have a working light, the furniture was, again, damaged, the fan was making noise and could not be used without safety concerns and there was no blow dryer to use. We called to request a blow dryer but the front desk simply stated "some rooms have them and others don't". I asked if we could get one and he responded that he could not get us a blow dryer. Additionally, there were cars in the parking lot that looked like people were living out of them and the staff was continually unavailable by phone and was outside talking to friends and vaping. We requested a refund as we decided not to stay due to the numerous issues, but the front desk manager, Dalton, needed to clear it with his boss. We waited for a bit but needed to leave to get to our new hotel. We never heard back from the team at Newport Inn By OYO....Do NOT stay here.
