La Galiniere Guest Cottages

Excellent location, just on the outskirts of Franschhoek proper, on the main road. The property felt very secure, and was spacious, with DSTV Satellite TV. The property was clean, with a decent kitchen,

We couldn't get the log burning fire to light properly, though that may have been the wood. The lack of an en-suite bathroom for the master beroom is also a slight negative.

Proximité de la petite ville, mais très proche de la route donc il y a le bruit constant. Logement mal isolé pour l´hiver donc il faisait froid (Le voyage a été effectue au mois d'août.). Niveau de propreté acceptable.

The indoor fireplace for cold winters night, awesome welcome upon arrival. The in-house wine was lovely. Friendly dogs on the premises. Beautiful views, perfect home away from home. Definitely coming again.

Rietha was warm & welcoming on our arrival, and helpful during our stay, going over & above to assist us. A bottle of wine greeting us too, with wood for the fireplace and all the blankets for comfort. It was a lovely cottage with everything we needed, and good location close to town.

Don't rely on the wifi, but that is not why we were there :-) Who needs wifi when you are in a beautiful town with wine farms all around you.

Property was easy to find & get in, and was well located for either a quick Uber/taxi ride to outlying wine farms or to walk to nearby Wiesenhof, Old Road or Franschhoek Wine Cellar (or a bit further along to the wine tram starting point if you've booked that). The cottages were well equipped for winter with blankets, heaters in the rooms, and a fireplace with complimentary wood and starter kit. Beautiful open view of the mountains.

For what we'd needed as a weekend stay in Franschhoek, La Galiniere ticked our boxes and can't think of anything that would need highlighting as a negative.

Location and cosy cottage. Rietha greeted us with a warm smile and was extremely helpful and friendly. 5 star treatment. Place cleaned everyday if you want. Never felt cold. Heaters warmed place up quickly. Kitchen was very well equiped. Complimentary firewood and wine. Excellent value for money. Super quiet. Dogs were friendly but not over friendly. Cant understand the negative comments.

Lovely central location, very peaceful even though on the main road to Franschoek, the cottage is well set back and there were no noise disturbances. Lovely clean cottage - had everything we needed for our one night stay. Thanks so much for hosting us.

The location close to town and views from property are amazing and ofcourse the host Rietha always amazing and accommodating. Good value for money!
