The last time we stayed was 2 years ago for 5 days. We love it so much, and book again this year and stayed for 6 days. Not only is the scenery view from the hotel is great, crews smile really melts your heart especially from CIAO. The only feedback is that since we are staying there long, foods from various restaurant kind of boring, And I believe the chef can do much better. We plan to go back again next year, probably another 7 days?

The shower at the pool didn’t work that well

The views from this hotel are breathtaking. If you can afford a lake view it is worth it. We upgraded on arrival to a club room. You get a room on a higher floor and access to a beautiful club room. Parking is easy and the staff are mostly friendly. Would i recommend this hotel? No, unfortunately. I should caveat that this may be a level of service that is culturally different however I have travelled extensively across Asia and never experienced this level of shall we say 'attentiveness'. This is a polite way of explaining that there are a lot of rules in place at this hotel and you feel like you are under constant surveillance should you accidentally break them. We arrived early, and were told we couldn't check in until 3pm, fine but weren't allowed to use the facilities which was strange. We thought we'd wander around the hotel to have a look as there was no real communal seating other than two sofas in the lobby. The only other seats were in the cafe/restaurant in front of the lobby. Walking around it felt that we were constantly jumped on by staff about where we could and couldn't go, and we were only walking around common parts. You have to wear swimming caps in the pool, i haven't experienced this since germany in the 90s but ok. But the guy actually walked into the waterworld whilst we were in the jacuzzi to ask us to sign for them rather than waiting until we were leaving. On leaving the club we were accosted for stealing bottles of water. Firstly, we had brought them in ourselves and secondly, they didn't even have bottled water in the club for us to steal. My personal favourite was the 'no leaning' sign in the lift. Like I said, the management might feel that this is very attentive service but I have never experienced anything like this anywhere else, and 10 days into a trip around Taiwan it isn't a Taiwanese service culture either. The club room was beautiful but not really worth the extra expense. Unless you don't have half board included. The buffet area is a huge room and very noisy. There are a lot of children which is accepted but it felt like a canteen of people rushing about. We are currently in a similar resort hotel in Taroko and it is completely ddifferent: civilised buffet restaurant, staff are helpful but more relaxed. If you have kids this is a great hotel and I'm sorry to not be able to write a glowing report but it was expensive and I honestly couldn't wait to leave. It felt more like a school camp than a luxury hotel.
