Best Western Balgeddie House Hotel

Really lovely property, excellent facilities and beautiful grounds. Pool was a bonus

Extra public holiday got me thinking about a local overnight, BW Balgeddie House cropped up and did not disappoint. Warm welcome and great boost that spa was open until 2000 really made a great first impression. Powerful showers, steam room and spa were great but my 10 year-old son loved the pool and so did I. As a proud non-swimmer, walking 100 laps twice in the space of 18 hours really puts a spring in your step (take a £1 coin for your locker - it will be returned). Did I also mention that check out is at 1100 and that can use the spa until 1700 that day)? Breakfast was open 0700 to 1000. It was generous and the continental elements (pastries, fruit, cereal etc) were very good. While coffee was weak, the full breakfast was a generous mixed bag (great black pudding, eggs and bacon but basic beans and potato scones) served with a smile. In short, I would return here in a heartbeat and recommend this hotel to all booking.com users

More local signposts to show precise location of hotel, stronger and more plentiful coffee (bed room and breakfast), improved quality of full breakfast ingredients). All very minor things ( local council has to fix signage).

Lovely old country house, full of character. Our room was enormous, lovely comfortable super king bed. Bathroom with separate shower and corner bath. Lovely views over the gardens.

Full breakfast was lovely, but not much choice other than that. Continental breakfast was a bit of a let down with no cheese or meats.
