Friendly family run hotel very clean good pool close to Marina and local beaches j

we stayed for 3 nights for the Superbike racing - the hotel was very handily situated close to the Marina and the OId Town where there was much to see and do in the evenings.

My brother and I went for a long weekend surfing trip. The marina is a fantastic place with nice bars, restaurants and Cafe's.

Whilst the hotel itself is a little outdated we were very impressed with the service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who made us feel welcome every time we walked through the door. The hotel is nothing flash but perfectly clean and the choice of breakfast excellent. It ihas a small pool to the rear and more often than not we found we had this to ourselves. The location is very handy for the lovely Lagos Marina (a 5 minute walk) and only a 15 minute walk into the bustling town centre with it's many bars and restaurants. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to friends and family, particularly if you are on a budget as we were this year (saving for a wedding!) Thanks again.

Hotel is a very short walk to Dive-Time dive center, and close to highway access, and at the Marina restaurants, short distance to historic area and beaches. large comfortable, well appointed rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, will stay there again when in Lagos for scuba diving.

I walked in to this lovely quiet hotel, was welcomed by Suzannah, charming lady and so professional by the way she checked me in...she was very sweet. The room was great, adult sized bath, plenty of hot water, television was not needed, but only had 4 portugese channels. Balcony was overlooking public area walkway, so no privacy, but the pool area was nice for 2 hours of sunbathing. The breakfast was amazing, so many choices of cereals! Rolls, meats etc.. Coffee was horrible, so so sweet when it comes out of the machine..too sweet. And the same with the Hot Chocolate. There was a musty smell in the public areas which I did not like, did not smell fresh, smelt odd and old. The friendliness of the family was nice and genuine aswell as the mother and father. The Housekeeper was a sight for sore eyes, wearing a see through skirt which made me chuckle as you could see her exotic lingerie first thing in the morning!..I Had to laugh! All in all a nice one night stay, but needs to be a bit busier and few improvements like make it more lively and a little upbeat! Flatscreen TV's and more Television Channels would be a great start - and get rid of that awful musty smell in the public areas. More lighting needed in the public areas, it is very dark.. The hotel is in a pretty good location, but is right on the main road, so pretty noisy if your room is at the front. Close to the lovely marina in Lagos and a fifteen minute stroll to the beautiful wide beach over the sand dunes. Beyond the marina over the footbridge is the charming Old Town, with cobbled streets and some great cafes, bars and shops. The hotel is in need of updating. Although the bedroom was spotlessly clean, with a very hard mattress and no showerhead in the bathroom! The swimming pool was rather small with no view, so only good for cooling off and not swimming .The breakfast was very basic. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Perfect for a short stay in this scenic part of Portugal.
