B&B Castiglia

This is in the best location, just a 5-10 in walk from the main train station. You have to go in a lift up to the 3rd floor of the building, this is where the B & B is based. Room was very clean and comfy. The couple who run it were very friendly and recommended places to visit. Everything was fab about this hotel apart from the breakfast. This was brought to your room on a tray and was very basic. Was quite disappointed by this. But everything else made up for it though. Would recommend this hotel to anybody and I would stay there again.

We stumbled upon this hotel very late night with nowhere to stay and was very pleased that we did. It is located very close to the train station. The owners are so very sweet, kind and helpful with directions and advice on sight seeing. English is spoken very well. A light breakfast is served in room each morning. Each room is very clean with in room bathroom, equipped with toilet, shower and hair dryer. Rooms have remote controlled air conditioners and TVs. The building remains locked (with options to lock items in the room itself) and you must be buzzed in. It also has an elevator although it is not a very steep climb up a few floors. I would absolutely go back to this place, especially considering the price, which is well below any other in the area.

We would like to say thank you for the stay at your B&B. We experienced a wonderful supportive and comfortable stay. Your service, rooms and facilities met expectations and the breakfast was better than most B&B'S we experienced in Italy of the same price range. I am a professional guide and travel agent in Sicily and when I travel in Palermo, I usually stay in the B&B Castiglia. It is definitely a budget option, with few amenities, but it is clean and run by an attentive and responsible proprietor. Rooms have private bathroom and shower, AC/heating, and TV. It is just off Via Roma, which is a noisy street, but high enough for this not to be a problem. Best of all, it is only two blocks from the train station, in the old part of town, convenient to most historical sites. very close to train/bus/airport bus terminal. Palermo is compact enough so we were able to walk to all of the city places and restaurants we wanted to visit. Comfortable beds. Would have appreciated shelves and hooks on walls for our belongs. A greater variety for breakfasts would be a plus. Very friendly owners.

Giuseppe and Maria are wonderful. They gave me great directions on how to get to the B & B, and once there helped me by showing me where the 'sites' were. The location is 3 blocks from the main bus and train station and easy walking to everywhere. I stayed two nights and then traveled around Sicily, returning to Castiglia on my last night. The room was ready for me--including the extra blanket I requested on my first stay there! They are warm and friendly and I will return there if I am ever back in Palermo.
