Le Dune Resort

Basically similar to a SEA resort with a bar, buffet restaurant, pool and cabanas, right on the beach. Great staff, really helpful to tourists.

Restaurant was a set-meal buffet, but we ate out anyway.

Personnel is amazing and very friendly. We were especially happy with the efforts of Pinocchia, Sebastian and Francesca. They whole staff is really great! The lifeguards are doing their job responsibly, they have a first aid box and they also keep the beach clean. If they leave the beach even for 5 mins, they change the flag immediately to alert the people. We also liked that a sun-bed and a table in the restaurant are assigned to the room on the first day and are fixed for your whole stay. It is a good place to unwind from hard working year and just chill, eat, and swim.

Price/Quality-wise the hotel is not 4 stars and not a resort. The whole idea that only water is included in all meals is also odd for a place called “resort”. Breakfast does not include coffee or tea which is a super basic in all other hotels. The room is very poorly equipped, there is no teapot/coffee machine, you need to go to the bar and buy it there. In our room the bathroom sink was stuck, safe-box’s battery broke 2 times and had to be replaced, the stuff did fix it but you see how management saves money on the hotel and only improves/fixes once something actually breaks. The hotel has quite a big area but from entertainment there is only a ping pong table with broken rackets. There is so much more potential and space to at least put a little gym, maybe a billiard table but it is not done and the space just remains empty.

The location is very tranquil. The resort was not crowded and so was very relaxing. We liked that our beach beds were allocated at the start of our stay and remained ours all the time. We also liked the refreshments brought round on the beach every morning. The beds round the pool are even better than shown in the photo of the resort as they now have curtains to shelter you during the heat of the day. The buffet breakfast was very good with lots of choices and the evening buffet even better. Wine, beer and soft drinks were included in the 30 Euro cost of the evening buffet. Every night there was entertainment after dinner. Although it was all in Italian many of the songs were in English and we enjoyed the cosmopolitan feel. They catered well for the children too.

We found the resort easily with Google maps but it was not very well signposted. We thought having to leave a deposit on the beach towels and only being able to change them once during our four day stay a bit stingy. We also found it unusual that the lifeguards at the beach and the pool both went off at lunchtime and in fact the pool was closed during this time. I have never stayed at an Italian beach resort so maybe this is normal?? The red wine with dinner could have been of a better quality...again it felt stingy. Our
