Booked standard room for 5 nights.
Exterior of the hotel gives a very good impression.

Got to our room: shocking ! Marks on the walls, 70s furniture with paint peeling off, air con barely working, cheap mattress. Bathroom had been renovated, fantastic vue , paint on the terrace walls cracked, rusty.
We immediately asked for a better room, offered another; room was so dark even with the iron shutter up, we opted to keep the original room.
Worst night ever, air con set at 22 Celsius , but not really working and releasing sewage smell throughout the night, we had to open the window to get some cool air ,but, got up with face swollen with mosquito bites, had the get to a chemist to buy antihistamine .
Hotel did not have a mosquito repellent to put in the bedroom!,
Needless to say ,we were offered another room.
Went for breakfast, what a joke:
*Press oranges yourself if you want a fruit juice
* pears and apples for fresh fruit or TINNED pineapple and peaches! In a 4 star hotel, tinned fruit.
* cold dried up scramble eggs
* mini frankfurters instead of Sicilian sausages
* horrible Slices of bacon
Obviously , we complained immediately and were offered fresh pineapple and omelettes . Thank you to Giovanna and Antonella for your friendly and professional service every day.
No Sicilian cheeses on offer.
* lots of cakes on offer which is great for those with sweet tooth.
Room offered had updated furniture, but, iron shutter was broken, and air con needed to be adjusted to right temperature for us.
A technician spent a fair amount of time fixing both.
Terrace with one chair only ( never given a second one) , and same derelict looking walls. So depressing.
Hotel gave us a bottle of Prosecco and a plate of fruit as an apology.
Beach is good , plenty loungers, life guards not friendly at all, borderline rude.
Gym , very small , not even a mat for floor exercises !! Why?
One of the reasons we had chosen this hotel is to play tennis.
When we asked where it was, the receptionist looked shocked we would want to play on their court!
Got there, court needs resurfacing, one side with dried leaves strewn all over, very dangerous , leaves all around the perimeter of the court, what a state, what a lack of respect for guests, totally abandoned.
Worse of all, the court is not even the right size! A short court advertised as tennis court, a total joke.
We did ask for a broom, to clean it ourselves . Broom not provided and court never cleaned.
Next to the court a small derelict football pitch.
In the same area, the outside theater used for entertainment , totally derelict, dirty, graffitied .What a site.
Yet the hotel is well kept around the pools , the outdoor areas used for guests on convention . it’s obvious this is where the hotel direct their best effort .
Lots of flowers around , which I picked for our room..
Worst, was the check out , when I asked for an invoice , it was printed and THROWN on the counter with a CIAO!!!
That was MiRIAM , the rudest person in this hotel and really sums up the place .
It is obvious that management should not only address all the above but also make sure tourist are treated as well as their business guests on convention.
