Palheiro Village Resort

Ons appartement was erg goed, ruim en met een fantastisch uitzicht. We konden direct bij het appartement parkeren. De locatie is mooi vanwege het uitzicht. Voor boodschappen en bezoek aan Funchal heb je een auto nodig.

We kwamen 's avonds laat aan en hebben in het donker, de mist en de regen via een enorm kronkelweggetje geprobeerd de borden naar de golfbaan te volgen. Vrijwel onmogelijk! Ergste was dat we alleen een telefoonnummer van de receptie hadden en die was uiteraard gesloten.

The parking was easy, apartment had room and nice view s.

There were cockroaches in the apartment, one really big one scared the kids on Christmas. We’ve been to Madeira 5 times and this was the first place we encountered cockroaches. Had to keep all food in the fridge, seal everything and take trash out frequently to avoid them.

Absolutely amazing view. Not far from the airport, close to Funchal. Nice resort.

The accommodation was not checked. Light bulbs were missing, no warm water, pool water was not checked, the drain was clogged, and some other little issues.

I didn’t like the situation of the apartment being elderly and alone I felt really insecure plus the apartment was old and needed updating, supposed to be a washing machine and tumble dryer, yes there was a rusty old washing machine but no dryer, as for staff didn’t see anyone from the time I checked in! Reception was not open when I tried to hand my keys in

Palheiro Village is a beautiful resort located on a hill overlooking both the ocean and the city of Funchal. The views are simply stunning! The property is set in the eastern part of Funchal, about 15 minutes by car from the Old Town and around 10 minutes from the Botanical Garden — a quieter and less crowded area compared to the city center or the western side. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment with sea view, which was very comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed. The highlight was definitely the spacious terrace with a spectacular panoramic view — perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. The resort has gated access at both the upper and lower entrances, and guests receive a remote control at check-in. The two entrances are quite far apart and on a slope, with the reception and SPA area located roughly in the middle. If you use Bolt or Uber, note that GPS usually directs drivers to the upper entrance. If you want to be picked up from the lower one, you can manually select the point on the map — the same applies when using GPS with a rental car. We stayed in the lower part of the resort, which was much easier for access. There’s also a shuttle service available on request from reception, and free parking spaces are provided next to each villa. We had dinner at The Vista Balancal Restaurant (in the Golf area) and absolutely loved it — great food, excellent service, stunning views, and fair prices. Overall, we had an amazing experience at Palheiro Village — peaceful, comfortable, and scenic. We can’t wait to come back!

We have stayed at Palheiro Village 4 times in the condos. We fell in love with Palheiro upon seeing the view of Funchal from our balcony. Truly unforgettable. The condos are lovely, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The balconies are the highlight with their views. The Golf Club is delightful for drinks and food. Highest possible recommendation!

We love Palheiro Village. This was our 4th stay. We always stay here in Madeira. Our hearts fell in love with the view from our balcony on our first visit. Now, Palheiro Village feels like home.
