Last Word Constantia

Loved our stay here, even though it was just one night, wished we could stay longer. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in SA. Large comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff. Nice garden and pool area. Great breakfast. Handy for everything in Constantia and beyond.

Excellent experience right from our late arrival where we were served a chilled glass of wine and greeted with a delicious crème brûlée in our room. The room was large and well presented. There was a garden theme running through the hotel reflecting the lovely garden setting and nice pool. You could get drinks anytime and cake at 4 in the dining room! The breakfast was really good, scotch egg was worth the wait.

It was nice but in a retirement home kind of way, I felt like I was staying with my grandma. Also the AC unit in our room (7) made a lot of super annoying noise.

Booked this hotel for my parents to celebrate a birthday. The hotel went above and beyond, celebrating with a chocolate cake at breakfast and local wine in the room. The hotel really surpassed our expectations!

Having just stayed at the Plet in Plettenberg bay, our favourite hotel, I have to say The Last Word is very much up there. Service is second to none, the room huge and it was a bonus to have an outside area to sit in to have a gin from our own gin station ! Breakfast was excellent, even buffet lovers like us found it pretty good ! Hard to fault and will certainly return if we come back to SA.

From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave everything and everyone is perfect. Our room (number 4) was enormous. It is basically one very large room with a lounge area and then the bedroom area and then the bathroom with a sliding door so it can be shut off. There are doors opening onto the garden and swimming pool. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is plenty of choice for breakfast with anything cooked freshly prepared. In summary a fantastic place to stay.
