NISHIYAMA RYOKAN Established in 1953

The welcome and warm hospitality at this ryokan were extraordinary. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and kind from the very first moment until check-out. They even gave us a lovely little gift for our honeymoon—an unexpected surprise that we absolutely loved and appreciated so much! We truly want to thank the whole staff for such a kind and thoughtful gesture. ​The traditional style of the hotel is beautiful, and the location is absolutely excellent, making it very convenient to explore. We also thoroughly enjoyed the activities organized by the property: both the tea ceremony and the samurai event were fantastic experiences that we would definitely do again. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to use the public baths (onsen), which was a pity as they looked very relaxing.

If I had to find one small thing to improve, it would be the bed and the pillow, which were a bit too firm for our Western tastes. However, sleeping on a futon is all part of the authentic ryokan experience, so it certainly didn't ruin our stay!

Accueil chaleureux, belle chambre décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Petit-déjeuner traditionnel remarquable. Des activités sont proposées afin de faire découvrir certains aspects de le culture japonaise. Joli jardin dans le patio. Bref c’est un hôtel de grande qualité.

This place has been the highlight of our trip! Anyone looking for a peaceful and warm getaway should come here. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. We were blown away by the quality and the amount of thought put into everything.

Loved the location, the onsen, the free drinks, the excellent service. The breakfast was also terrific, so much food!

THE BEST EXPERIENCE IN KYOTO! We arrived and the staff was SO friendly. They showed us the room, which is beautiful; we really felt that amazing, lovely vibe! The tatami mats are gorgeous! The room is insanely beautiful!! And we had the opportunity to go to the onsen at the ryokan! An unparalleled experience. My fiancé and I left so happy! We are so pleased.
