Hotel Tirrenia

We had one of the most spectacular views from our balcony. The staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was very good and we especially enjoyed having the option of eating outdoor by the pool. Making use of the pool on the hot days was a definite plus. Plenty of parking was very much appreciated.

The staff was incredibly inconsiderate and not helpful. The cleaning crew left bleach on the floor and when our clothes ended up with bleach stains, they did nothing. They didn’t even apologize but instead asked why we had clothes on the floor. Customer service was atrocious. Not at all happy.

The hotel location was good (not far from the train station) and the staff were very courteous and helpful. The hot and cold breakfast was excellent. The room was ok (a little small, like the showers seem to be in Italy). I found the bed a bit hard, but that is probably only personal preference. The wifi was a bit hit and miss. But overall, a great place to stay in Sorrento.

Old unmaintained hotel, close to center 15 min walk from train station.

Conveniently placed near the main shopping street and several nice restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. The air conditioning worked very well. The breakfast buffet was also very good.

Nice hotel at the end of the main strip on Sorrento. Perfect location away from the noise of the main Street but only 10-15 mins walk to everything in Sorrento including the train/bus station. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Room was perfect, didn't spend much time in it, but was fine, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was a bonus, although not of the highest quality, but it was included so can't complain (eggs, beans, pastries, coffee, tea, fruit, sweets, cereal). Overall a very good stay, and one of the cheapest options in town makes it a bonus.

- Room was clean for the most part, but there was some dust under the bed and behind the furniture. Housekeeping mops the usable parts of the tile floor daily. - Comfortable queen size bed with firm mattress(actually 2-single beds placed together) with nice firm pillows for a good night's sleep. - Good Location - The hotel is at the end of the Corso Italia pedestrian mall, so plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. A 2/3 mile walk to the train station, or a 15-to-19 Euro taxi fare depending on which cab you get. - Fantastic Breakfast is included consisting of excellent quality pastries, fresh cut fruit, ham/salami/cheese cold cuts and hot trays of eggs/bacon/sausage and kidney beans in a delicious red sauce. - Staff speaks English very well and are helpful and accommodating. - Nice top floor patio with Jacuzzi and overlooking view of the bay. - Short downhill walk to the Marina Grande where there is a nice beach with warm, clear water for swimming, and restaurants and bars, but again, an uphill walk on the way back. - Laundromat directly across the street. 5-Euros for a regular size wash. - 30-inch HDTV had good picture quality, but only 1 channel in English(Sky News). - WiFi was horrendous. At least a 1-minute wait for each web page. - The air conditioner blew ice cold air, but there was no way to control it.

Great views, food, shopping area and close to a bus stop. If you want to take the Sita bus to Positano/ amalfi you have to go to the station first and take the bus there. The Sita bus fills up at the station and did not stop at 90% of the stops. If you want to go to the port from there you have to walk 10min.
