Super leuke ervaring om in een oude gevangenis te slapen. Leuk ook hoe er nog informatie over de geschiedenis te vinden is in de gevangenis. Keuken was prima om te gebruiken en werd veel gebruikt door iedereen.

Het is best wel basic maar prima voor backpackers. Schotten tussen de wc’s en douches stellen niet veel voor. Personeel was niet echt gemotiveerd om te helpen, alles werd met een chagrijnig gezicht, 3 woorden, op sloffen en met oortjes in gedaan. Centrum van Christchurch was 30-40 min lopen, hadden we ons een beetje in vergist

It was very cool to stay in an old jail, I liked the vibe and they've done it up pretty well. The location was good, we were able to store our bags easily before & after our stay.

You aren't able to adjust the temperature in the room which is honestly ridiculous. It was freezing in the room and they offer hot water bottles and extra blankets, but come on, I should not have to sit under two blankets with my jumper on and still feel cold in a room I am paying for. I spoke with reception who turned the heat up apparently, but it was still freezing the the room the entire time we stayed. It wouldn't be as bad if you could heat up in the shower, but the showers seemed to run mostly cold with the odd hot 30 seconds or so. In total, I spoke with four staff members, three were lovely, but one woman was so rude. I let her know my door was not unlocking and she seemed so bothered by me asking for her help and also didn't belive me when I tried to explain the situation multiple times. She seemed to think I had forgoten my code, or perhaps didn't know how to open a door. Her attitude was pretty appalling. Overall, I would not stay here again. It was just not worth the money.

Very comfortable bed. Great location. Good place to stay. Close to shops, Addington Railway Station.
