Hotel Martello

Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff were very welcoming. The only negative I'd the breakfast where everything is in packets, if you have the option to skip it I would.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Venice on holiday. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the Venice Mestre railway station. It is also close to the bus stops which take you to the ferry terminals for connections to Venice island. The hotel is family owned and operated. The landlady was helpful and forthright in all communications. They had a customised map / timetable leaflet explaining how to get in to Venice and back using the bus / train / ferries. Came in very handy. The breakfast was pretty basic continental off the shelf stuff. No complaints.

Good location. Close to the station.

The room was clean. Take 15 minute to Venice. Neighborhood was quiet.

It is very convenient location to visit Venice if you are traveling budget limited. You can not get a bed within Venice with same price. Carla, the manager of the hotel is very helpful to tell you the orientation and so on. Also you have breakfast and coffee ready before you left for excitation to Venice in the morning.

Because of delayed trains, I didn't get to Venice until almost midnight. I did find the hotel, nice location. The room was clean. The manager was a little upset that I was so late, and I had no way to tell him I was going to be so late. I was exhausted, and didn't find the heater for the room and was ice cold. The wet room was small but good. Towels were clean. Bedding a little thin. Breakfast was some continental: breads, jams, honey and excellent coffee. 2 chief complaints, indifference to me being there, no hello, no nothing, and because I was late, I was charged for no show, and then paid in the morning because I was there. Will have to take that up with the credit card.

owner was really nice and friendly. She gave good explanations for touring around. Bus station to Venice is really close to the hotel and in 10 minutes of driving you are Venice.

We've been in the hotel probably 3 times in the last 10 years, receiving the same friendly service, we wouldn't hesitate to return in future.

Conviently located near the train station, an easy 10 minute walk. Continental Breakfast was sparse but a good start to the day. Accomdating staff. For the price, a good deal.
